Laurie Strode is MM's sister. She was adopted. They do a pretty good job of laying this all out during the movie. He went after her specifically on the 15th anniversary of the original murder of his older sister. He didnt become infatuated with her, he always was, even while institutionalized. Now, her friends definitely wrong place wrong time. The actual entire series sans 3 is all about Myers unrelenting desire to eliminate his family members.
Can't wait for this new one. Should be entertaining.
