Here's the thing, it is indisputable that the Chiefs' hardcore fanbase is a battered lot.
It is also indisputable that the Chiefs have made radical and extensive changes in their view of what it takes to get better and compete for a championship.
Some are glad to have tangible reasons for optimism. Others are determined to extinguish all optimism because some changes look too much like past changes.
SDH and Claythan are like a cadre of Juden in the camps running around yelling at everyone 'I know you're starving, and I know you're being worked to death, but the showers are furnaces so get ready for more pain!! Suckers!!'
Time may bear them out, but some people aren't in the mood for such talk at this juncture.
Some want to hold out hope some of these new guys on the Chiefs are American GIs.
