This regime has showed in the past that they'll "try" when they see a prospect the believe in.
As much as we all wanted it to be true, I think it's becoming more and more obvious that this years class was just as bad as everyone said it was, and as DJ stated, we potentially got the most talented guy available who needs as much work as any of the others

And that's the wrong attitude to take. Entirely.
The Chiefs never drafted a real prospect (unless you count Brodie Croyle) in 30 years because every time a guy that showed up at our spot in the draft, we said, "We've got other needs, we already have Veteran A and Shitty Prospect B, he's not worth the draft position we're at, oh **** it, just forget it.
Trying just to try is EXACTLY how the Ravens ended up with Flacco. It's how the Dolphins got Tannehill.
RARELY does a situation come along where taking the QB is so goddamned obvious to a team that people would lose their jobs if they DIDN'T draft him. That's what the Chiefs have been expecting for 30 years, that "the right" QB will just show up in the draft. Magically.
So they say stuff like, "It'd be great to draft our own franchise QB, but it's dumb to try taking a QB just 'to try.' If we're gonna do it just to try doing it, we may as well be taking a K in the first round just to try it out and see if it works."
And THAT'S dumb.
