Like many of the rest of my fellow old farts, I have, over the years, developed old man eyes. While my distance vision is certainly better than my close up vision, it has also significantly deteriorated. I broke out my scoped AR and took it to the range earlier, mainly because I hadn't shot it in years and just wanted to put some rounds through it. At a 25 yard indoor range, using a 4X scope, I found myself looking at a blurry little red dot in the middle of a blurry black circle. While I still had about a two inch group with a couple of three inch flyers, it certainly wasn't anything like I could do back in the days when I could actually see what I was ****ing shooting at.
At 25 yards with a scoped rifle I should be hitting a quarter-sized group.
I guess I could go to the eye doctor and ask for a different prescription for specific shooting glasses, but in the current political climate I'm kind of reluctant to do that. Does anybody know of any sort of shooting glasses that specifically address this problem? There's gotta be a market for it.
