In reality, officers are often waiting to see who exits to avoid the checkpoint. The checkpoints are conveniently placed right after an exit ramp. They then pull over any cars that exit the ramp. Because even though there wasn't an actual checkpoint that forced you to stop, the fact that you diverted off the highway to "Avoid" the checkpoint gives them probable cause to search your vehicle. I've seen it countless times.

Sure, and this did occur on I70 near the Colorado border. I'm just saying it's not going to happen in the Metro.
