After winning the SB and then losing in the playoffs to the eventual SB champs the following year, I can see why he wanted so desperately to run it back. However, I don’t think this team was bought in like before, especially after the retirement announcement and it being his last year on a contract. Seemed like they were all just playing nice and riding the ship for one last journey, without any real expectation.
