Aka I like fractional points.
Every yard shouldn't matter, is my rebuttal. I'd be less about tiered mins if there wasn't fractional points. Every 10 yards gets a point instead of every yard gets a fraction of a point seems more logical to me. Your player doesn't get partial credit for a TD because he had a fraction of the yards that got the team into the endzone, so why should he get credit for all yards instead of having to hit milestones?

I think players should have to hit milestones to get points, much in the same way they have to actually score to get points. You get 10 yards, you get a point. You can't get 10 yards, too bad. You shouldn't get 0.9 yards as a participation award, which is unfortunately the way FF leagues have went and a big reason I stopped playing years ago. I thought I'd revisit it but I figured out I still hate the idea.

Fractional yards can be the difference of a TD+1 across 8 player slots versus going with a milestone-based system.

Tiered minimums function more as another check against the system. If a player contributes 3 catches for 30 yards, he gets 3 points. Was that contribution worthy of points? Not really. That's likened to saying Demarcus Robinson had a half-TD impact on a game when the reality is he had little to no impact. But, if you have a system that requires a full roster plus 2 flex, its' hard to find guys for that last flex that will continually contribute points if there are tiered minimums so I could see the argument there.

As for the 2nd flex itself... I think it dilutes roster quality a bit and free agency.

I'm not saying everyone should agree with me. I just think alot of this should be put to vote and thought out in the offseason this time around.
