I have no clue if this was the case, but the move to a defensive coordinator after just seeing a pretty damn good season from a rookie QB smacks of the owner getting too involved. Spanos was probably like, "Now listen, I may not know as much about football, but I know about common sense, and see here we've been doing a lot of losing with these offense guys at head coach. I know Joe Lombardi is on staff, but if he has success, he's going to get hired as a head coach VERY quickly. Staley can't possibly know jack shit about young QBs or however the **** they should be coached.
