I loved it as well.
Personally about half way through I was like "WTF is this even about? Is there a point?"
About 80% of the way through (when he's at the songwriter's house) there's a monologue and you go "ooOOOOOOOH." The last 20 minutes or so really spells it out.
Very good and a very ballsy flick to make...
