KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Van Horn High School counselor admits she sent sexually explicit messages and videos to a teenager.
Meghann Wells, 30, of Latham, Mo., is charged in Jackson County Court with possession of child pornography, second degree statutory sodomy, unlawful use of a weapon.
The high school's website shows Wells worked at the school as a counselor.
Court documents state someone told an Independence police officer about inappropriate text messages between Wells and a child under the age of 17.
The victim said in a forensic interview at the Child Protection Center the victim and Wells sent sexually explicit pictures and videos to each other,

A School Resource Officer with the Independence Police Department took Wells Thursday from Van Horn High School to the Independence Police Department.
Wells told two detectives she and the victim began sending one another sexually explicit messages in the Spring of 2018, court documents state.
The two also exchanged sexually explicit videos.
Detectives took Wells to the police department's detention unit when the interview was over, court documents state.
They found a loaded Glock 43 handgun in her purse with six rounds in the gun's magazine.
The gun had been in her purse at the school.
