It's interesting really because This draft, while it can bring an influx of talent-I mean how often do multiple rookies all kick-ass right out of the gate? I mean, every year, one maybe two, right?
But as bad as we were, it's likely that a couple could be upgrades right away if we draft well.
You can't let everybody go and just draft though. You need some proven guys to fill spots if not for the long haul at least a year or two.
If you keep Ford, you're risking a lot; and best case scenario is it costs you a lot more money next year. He'll be harder to tag and trade; you lose a lot of leverage and his contract becomes less attractive. Worst case scenario is he can sit next to Berry on the brokedick bench.
If you keep Houston at RDE, it's a ton of money this year, but you could eat it. If he's relatively healthy he'll do a good job and you could cut him next year IF you draft an edge/DE this year to spell him and rotate. I like Jaylon Edwards, others like other guys. BUT there's no money left for other FA's and you're going to have to start like 3 rookies; at one CB slot, probably one S slot, and at SAM.
