Apparently there were 22 crew members (cooks and stewards) in lifeboat #13.
I lived to a ripe age of 87 after a career as a cook on merchant ships. I also served for four years in WWI and was awarded the Merchant Seaman Medal for my services.
There is a lot more about my life here. It is interesting that Alfred died in February of 1961, about 5 months before I was born. So maybe I really am him reincarnated?
