The Patriots didn't even know the top seed was on the line for both of those games. If the Patriots had won the first game and then Chiefs won out the rest of the way, Chiefs would still have HFA and #1 seed.

Patriots didn't know for sure that Chiefs would lose at Seattle.

Y'all literally have an excuse for everything. NE didn't know HFA was on the line, huh? How could they NOT know since KC hadn't clinched? HFA is on the line until it isn't. And when does a team "know" that another team if gonna lose?

I swear, Pats fans...

And given Patriots have played at home in the AFC Championship when they were the #2 seed, they didn't even no for sure that losing the number 1 seed would result in being on the road for AFC Championship game.

So... the Pats can't see in to the future? You really don't see how dumb the "they didn't know" excuse is???

If Patriots lose this game, I'd be surprised if Arrowhead was more then let's say a 4-5 point swing in Chiefs favor. Even though Chiefs play better at home, they were not gonna pull a Chargers and go to Foxborough and lay an egg.

4-5 point swing is quite significant...

In other words if Chiefs blow the Patriots out by 30 in this game, I suspect they would have dominated on the road as well -- I am just assuming same weather here is both locations.

This is just dumb. NE dominated Miami at home and lost by 1 on the road.
But by your logic, since NE didn't dominate KC at home there is no way they can beat them on the road then.

If one looks at literally all of the playoff losses of the Patriots and watch the games during the Brady era, the conclusion in my opinion is they really weren't far off from winning nearly all of them. Only a few plays changing could have dramatically changed things. They sometimes really played bad but it was more so their own mistakes.

Does it also works the other way too? Were the Patriots also not far from losing nearly all of them too? KC lost 4 games this year by 14 points. We were basically undefeated, right?

On the other hand, on a few of their home losses they have gotten their ***** handed to them. See Baltimore games....Outclassed in those games.

If the Chiefs destroy the Patriots at Arrowhead like 40-10 without a key Patriot(s) being injured, they have a _truly great_ team right now and it would be somewhat of a surprise for them to not win the Super Bowl.

Chiefs players won't make the mistake but I think Chief fans are sorely mistaken if they think this game will be easy since the Patriots went 3-5 on the road.

I swear NE fans are the dumbest most insecure fans I've ever encountered. Being confident in victory doesn't mean it will be easy. ESPN gives KC a 66% chance to win, but the Chiefs are only a 3 point favorite. So does that mean ESPN thinks the game is gonna be easy too?

2 losses first month of the season without Brady's security blanket to make third downs(Edelman) and 2 of the other losses very competitive with the Patriots obviously blowing the Miami game on a fluke play.

More excuses. I thought it was Brady's MCL? Why not blame it on the cover 2? Is KC entitled to use these excuses too? Like how we were down multiple offensive linemen, safety's and Houston? Or maybe how it was only Mahomes 7th game of his career?

If Mahomes plays as well as Blake Bortles did at home against the Patriots, Chiefs win.

LOL... Yeah... really impossible to expect Mahomes to play as well as Bortles... LOL

But Bortles played won of the best games of his career in that particular game. Only on a few plays was he taking advantage of wide open receivers. He made a ton of throws to very well covered receivers. He was flat out tremendous and was willing to sacrifice his body on a few runs as well to try to pick up first downs. If he played like that each week on a consistent basis, he would probably be most coveted QB in the entire league. He doesn't and that is why his days as a starter are probably close to permanently being over.

LOL... Yeah... really impossible to expect Mahomes to play as well as Bortles... LOL

Bortles stat line from that game:

29-45, 376 YDS, 4 TD, 1 INT 111.0

Mahomes stats from week 6:

23-36, 352 YDS, 4 TD, 2 INT 110.0

Mahomes passer rating for then ENTIRE 2018 season? 112.

Nah... no way Mahomes can match Blake ****ing Bortles...
