He's not going to make out like a bandit. He'll lose quite a bit of money for lost time. He might make up for that on a quick "prove it" contract. Then if he shows good behavior, he will earn a long term deal that is way less than if he would have had his act together. I'm guessing the NFL will make it known that one more slip up no matter how small and he's gone indefinitely. Teams aren't going to give him a monster salary for that.
