Let's not be overly harsh, Mr. KCChiefsFan88. It can be a good thing to reflect on past expectations. It allows us to properly evaluate the current state of affairs. We should probably do it more.
To me, and in terms of overall context, the key to this season rests on our next two games. If we do land the #1 seed by demolishing the pitifully stupid faid and we win our first playoff game at home since 1994, this will have been a good season ... maybe even a great one - given the objective circumstances.
It may not result in a Lombardi, but it would be a significant accomplishment by any truly reasonable standard. It also bodes well for the future since Mahomes needs playoff experience. He's getting that in his first year in spite of expectations. I view that as a net positive.
