That continuous shot of Michael Myers just rampaging through Haddenfield ala Halloween 2. I really thought he was going to shank the baby in the crib!
The flood lights scene. Nightmare fuel.
All of the callbacks.
-The soundtrack
-Opening/credits font
-Laurie staring at the granddaughter while she's in class
-Myers being pure evil
-stuck-on-wall knife kills
-bed sheets
-creeping through clotheslines
-the wooden closets
-the balcony scene
The bad:
Spoiler!
The plot to get Michael to Laurie was just convoluted as all shit.
Stupid people doing stupid horror movie things:
-The dad with the dancer son pulling over and getting out to make sure no one was hurt. Uhhh, it's the middle of the night in the middle of nowehere. You pull up to a crash and see a bunch of loons meandering about and your best course of action is leaving your little boy in the car to check things out? ****ing stupid.
-Babysitter tripping on nothing in the doorway.
-The female podcaster just waiting to die in the stall.
-Laurie sweeping the house in tight quarters with a rifle.
-What was the motive for moving Michael again? He had spent the last 40 years in that facility. What's the purpose of moving him now?
Also, at one point new Loomis is talking about how the prospect of being predator/prey is what's keeping Laurie and Michael alive, but they're like 60. Not even that old.
I only have ONE disagreement here.
Spoiler!
Baby sitter didn't trip on nothing. She was wearing socks on a hard wood floor. I have specific indoor only footwear for EXACTLY that reason.
That's the most legitimate slip in horror history. You should see my dogs run on them.
