Keenum is insurance, he takes away a lot of the anxiety on draft day and you're not doomed if the worst case scenario happens.

It was a shitty plan then bc no matter what you’re paying either paying Keenum $21 million to sit the bench for a rookie in 2019 or you’re cutting him leaving a $10 million dead cap from gaurantees which will severely hurt your cap status.
Drafting a young QB hurts the entire idea of using cheap QB to surround your team with talent. You’re wasting half of the contract bc of Keenum.
