Those are things that are not so easily explained away. Lights in the sky are easily explained away.
Understood.

And I'm not ready to just throw away the "abduction" experience. I think in some cases these people actually remember what they say they do. I think they're being honest.

A lot of the time people report seeing people in uniforms or helicopters or some type of government presence in the area. It's common knowledge that different combinations and durations of light can cause seizures or a hypnotic effect even in those that don't have any history of them. A lot of times these experiences seem to happen near military bases.

And we know from sex abuse and UFO cases that when people undergo hypnosis it's very easy to have false memories implanted. Researchers and therapists do this all the time without meaning to so I'm sure a govt. program could achieve much better results IF that was the aim.

If the military wanted to do a Tuskegee-like experiment today they could use a UFO abduction cover. Abduct Brainiac, inject him with the super-AIDS-bola, implant a false memory of ass play and aliens, and drop you back off. Pick you back up in 6 months, repeat, see the results.

I'm not saying it's probable but if I'm going to entertain for even one second an alien option I'd have to consider something a million times more likely, such as the military/government being behind it...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
