NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Falcons tried to trade back into the first round to draft Auburn OLB Dee Ford before he was selected by the Chiefs at No. 23.
GM Thomas Dimitroff desperately wants to upgrade his pass rush, but the cost of moving into the early 20s would have been mountainous.
