-------------------------------------------------------------------

Parking on game day

The grass portion of Lot X is a cash lot on gameday, so anyone can pay to park there on gameday. The money goes to the county, not us. If you are comfortable waiting to pay until gameday, Lot X will be the most convenient. The events and tailgate are beside each other. Enter through the Gator Bowl Blvd road. That funnels traffic into Lot X, there is nothing blocking or diverting traffic to Lot X. The cement portion of Lot X have been reserved by the Jaguars for Arrowhead South.

There is no parking inside the event space, only parking is on the other side of the fence next to our event space in Lot X. There is no free parking anywhere near the stadium.

If you are worried about parking in lot X because you are coming later, might be filled up, you can book through the site Fairgrounds ahead of time and walk over to Lot X. It is a short 5-7-minute walk. Here’s the site….https://www.jacksonvillefair.com/p/o...e-game-parking

The parking in lot X is 5-minute walk to the stadium.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Post-Game Tailgate

This is a free to all event. We are coming back to Lot X to celebrate the win. Everyone is welcome. Whatever food and drink are left from the two previous events that Arrowhead South purchased will be free to all. First come, first serve.

A cash bar will be available. Personal coolers are allowed in this event.

The stadium is a 5-minute walk to our Lot X tailgate.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hotels

Cheri Jones: I am the one who got the rate and to my knowledge they never closed it. Just has to be Sat, Sun, Mon as Friday the hotel is not accepting arrivals. To my knowledge they never closed our group rates. If your reservation is affected by the Sept 6th closure (only 2 people to my knowledge booked on Friday night) go online and rebook for Sat or Sun, or Sat/Sun

https://www.hyatt.com/en-US/group-booking/JAXRJ/G-KCCB

otherwise we are all good.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to purchase upper level from the Jags:

Here is the Jaguars provided link for direct purchase to order tickets in the upper deck to sit with Chief fans:

https://fevo.me/arrowheadsouth

-------------------------------------------------------

How to purchase the lower level seats or specific sections from the Jags:

Please email Alexa Olneya (olneya@nfl.jaguars.com) or call/text at (904) 633-4673. If they call, please have them leave a voicemail. Email and text are preferred. Alexa has been great to us. Lots of praise from everyone. Make sure you let her know you are with Arrowhead South to get to the front of the line and sit by fellow Chief fans.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Heartfelt thanks are due to these great people and organizations. We are utilizing a bare bones expense system to keep the ticket money going to the charities.

  • We had $5000 worth of meat donated.
  • Days of his life and hard work during the events of the pittmaster, Fergilious.
  • The Jaguars gave us $2600 to help pay the rental of lot X. In addition, they provided Tables, chairs, port-a- potty's, trash and site cleanup.
  • Manifest Distillery for giving us a keg of beer for free. Giving us bottles of alcohol of which the charity will benefit from the proceeds. They are discounting the water, tea and Coke products that will be available.
  • Every one of the 40+ volunteers you will see at the events paid the full price to be there just like everyone else. They are giving up their fun time just so the rest of us can have party on. Salu!
  • Bubba Burgers are donating 240 hamburgers for the tailgate on Sunday. They are going to cook them in their own area and created a Hamburger bar. They are also donating and running a Nacho bar.
  • Chefs Garden are donating appetizers and deserts for the fundraiser on Saturday night.
  • Mojo BBQ gave us the sides for both days at no cost.
  • Mojo BBQ also provided the BBQ rigs for Fergilious to use at the events. This saved the expenses to transporting all the rigs and equipment 2000 miles away.
  • The event banner for the pictures was donated.
  • Glory Days Grill and Millers Ale House for the Arrowhead South banners.
  • KC BBQ Society CEO and two of his staff donated 5 days of their time.
  • The Ozark BBQ alliance provided 2 persons to work full time for both days.
  • Scott Gorman donated tickets to the game that were auctioned and generated $485 for the Patrick Mahomes charity.
  • Gina Kidd donated $100 and purchased, delivered all the paper products that we will use to eat, drink and be merry.
  • The Arrowhead South chapter leaders donated 30 hours of labor to man the reception and front tables.
  • Dysautonomia International charity donated the items for a silent auction, Provided labor to man the reception and front tables. You can find out about all the great work they do here: http://www.dysautonomiainternational.org
  • Last but not least Susan Higgins who pulled all of this out of thin air. She worked for weeks for no pay. She makes good money doing events like this but for us, she worked for free. We are so grateful for her advice and hard work. Also, gave the coolest Chief cooler ever made to be raffled off.
----------------------------------------------------------------

Fun stuff:

We are going to have a donated backdrop/banner made specifically for the Jacksonville events. We will have a red carpet for people to stand on in front of the backdrop and fans can have their pictures taken by a professional to memorialize their trip to the Jacksonville game and Arrowhead South events. They will be posted online to be downloaded for free.

At the Arrowhead South Jacksonville events we are going raffle off a one of a kind customized Chiefs cooler. Hand built with all top quality wood. $5 a ticket or 5 entries for $20. Proceeds to benefit the Patrick Mahomes foundation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update 09/5

Current total of tickets sold:

Saturday Night VIP fundraiser....194 tickets sold.

Sunday pre-game tailgate ....... 467 tickets sold.

Thanks to all the volunteers who have contributed to make these events a success. I can already smell the deliciousness coming from the smoker. Brisket, Burnt ends, Pork Loin etc. courtesy of the KC BBQ society and Fergilious. Sharing some cold beverages with fellow Chief fans. Watching Mahomes on the field live take the next step in this golden era of Chiefs football.

And the best part.... Enjoying the festivity while raising money for charities that are doing great work for people in need. It’s going to be a great weekend!

--------------------------

For the record and keeping this in the open so everyone can have confidence that there was no shenanigans with the charity monies.....All monies from the Sat. night fundraiser and Sunday tailgate ticket sales will be split evenly between the Patrick Mahomes foundation, Nick Foles foundation and the KC BBQ society's scholarship programs for kids. The money raised by the sale of those great tickets in the 3rd row behind the bench that were donated and the raffle proceeds from the customized Chiefs cooler will not be split evenly but will be given to the Patrick Mahomes foundation exclusively. The Nick Foles charity group will be having a silent auction at the fundraising event. They are running it, setting it up etc. That money will go to the Nick Foles foundation exclusively. The KC BBQ Society may also do something at the events. If they do all the work, run it, they can keep that money raised exclusively too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrowhead South doesn't collect nor have access to the money being raised. That is controlled legally by a 501.C charity. They will distribute the collected funds to the charities. Arrowhead South will publicly announce the number of tickets sold periodically before the weekend. We will be reviewing and inspecting the books. The results will be made public to prevent any shenanigans.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: 09/18
We still have a couple of invoices out that may need to be paid but we are comfortable saying that we raised at least $15,000 for charity over the two day's.

Coochie liquor 01-26-2019 09:14 AM

When do you think tickets will actually go on sale? Need to save so I make sure I can go.

I'm interested.

Good. Just working and watching football on Sundays. Getting married this year also.

ChiefEd 01-26-2019 09:53 AM

We are looking at this one, too. Depending on when the game is scheduled, we may be in for four tickets...

Hey, Doug! I posted on Facebook that the wife and I are in.

FringeNC 01-26-2019 10:24 AM

This sounds tempting. Once the date comes out, I may be in.

Mosbonian 01-26-2019 10:39 AM

I am planning on being there.....but my trip is probably going to be shorter than most. I know several other Chiefs fans around town here in Jacksonville that might want to also participate who are not on Chiefsplanet. Let me check with them also.

What might help is to coordinate pooling of rides so that if there is limited parking space we can cut the number of spaces we would need. Maybe meet somewhere and park cars then carpool to the game.

Not sure about the BBQ buffet thing...I am guessing it will be Bono's since they are a big supporter of the Jags. Not my favorite BBQ around here...

Bowser 01-26-2019 10:50 AM

My first thought was BRC is planning a trip to London. :)

And we’re playing in Mexico. No way we get 2 out of country games

mine too. But, in my defense, in the 16+ years I’ve been here I’ve not been accused of or claimed to be witty or funny. I am what I am.

MahiMike 01-26-2019 05:19 PM

Was planning on going anyways. I'm in.

IA_Chiefs_fan 01-26-2019 05:24 PM

I have interest but I'll have to look at my calendar once the game is scheduled. Would definitely be two, maybe more.

A road trip to Jacksonville sounds about as appetizing as a weekend sojourn to Damascus.

Your area is way more fun. Have the Chiefs played in Tampa since you moved down there?

Interested, depending on the schedule.

Count me in! Gonna be fun.

I live about 12 minutes from the stadium.. could bring my smoker and grill if we want.

Jacksonville Beach is a great spot that is often overlooked.

Cool! Thanks for the offer. I'd bet that BBQ they offer in the tent is that "Florida BBQ", swimming in that molasses/brown sugar/honey sauce.

I could use some help with local physical matters. Need a volunteer to help with on the ground info. I've been there for weeks at a time. But, only once to the stadium when we played there.

This effort was announced on Saturday. I think we already have >500 Chief fans just in our group. I'll get an updated number today. We have employees of hotels, car rental companies offering us discounts not available to the public.

At this point it was to gauge interest in getting tickets to sit together at the game. I can then put down a deposit with the Jags. The Jags will block out the best group seats for us and we will be first in line to buy group tickets when we get a date and they are allowed to sell tickets.

We have 307 people interested. Just a handful was interested in the BBQ buffett from the Jaguars. We will definitely be doing our own food. I have several people volunteer to help. An event planner volunteering. It's going to be a lot of fun to have that many fans in another teams parking lot having a good time,

Update on the Chiefs fans road trip to Jacksonville next year

We have put down a security deposit on the tickets with the Jaguars. We are now first in line to purchase group tickets when they go on sale. We will get the best non-season ticket holder seats the Jaguars have available.

Our current total is 300+ Chief fans wanting tickets to the game. 250+ upper level seats. There is a possibility we can get seats in that level close to the 30-50 yard line. Another 50+ lower level seats. Those seats will be in the corners or the end zones.

The Jaguars will create a website for us to purchase tickets. You can buy tickets directly from the Jaguars using their secured system. We will not be involved in the ordering or getting your individual tickets part of the process. When you use that website, all the tickets available will be in the Chief fans only sections, behind the Chiefs bench side of the field. We are still working out the details on how particular groups can sit together. You want to sit with the Arrowhead South or the Pat Mahomes fan group etc.? Sit with your friends? That will be an option. We will get those details finalized before a date is announced for the game.

We are considering the possibility of turning our tailgate into a World Food Championship qualifier event. The Jaguars are on board with the event. We have one of their event coordinators that happens to be a Chiefs fan on board with the idea. The VP from the Jaguars will give us the space for free to hold a 1- or 2-day event. We get rub and sauce sponsors to buy the meat for the BBQ competition. The competitors cook the meat for the championship. We eat the resulting BBQ for free. Lots of details to work out but does this sound good or do we just want to do our own tailgate? Here’s the world food championships website. https://worldfoodchampionships.com/

They are expecting Mahomes to be a hot ticket.

The Jaguars will give us a discount of 10% off each ticket up to 500 we book. >500 the discount will go up. They will also give us one of those big tents in the parking lot for free and may be able to block out some parking around the tent for just Chief fans. They also will set up an optional BBQ buffet for $10 a head if we chose.

What happens right now is that we need to get an idea of how many want to come along on this road trip. They will then block out some seats for our purchase later.

As soon as we get a date from the NFL in March/April we will need to know how many are coming. If you are interested, please post….

How many?

Lower tier, second tier or upper deck?

Tailgate, yes or no?

I live here in Jax..would meet up with people for sure. Always go when they are in town. Actually a good amount of Chiefs people show up.

That sounds cool. We are going to have a lot of people from the Midwest traveling for the game. That would make it special for them.

I doubt everyone stays at the Hilton. We will be scattered. Looking at options to get together's on Friday and Saturday nights. Probably several options.

There are several for profit travel companies asking to be involved. I'm saying no thanks for now. Our groups in Florida are just fan groups. They don't charge for events or membership. They don't sell our members information for ads, allow for profit posts etc. I have no interest in monetizing this in some way. But.......I'll let the group decide.

Yeah, its been around for 26 years. Your going to have to come down for the game to see the daughter and hang with us. Going to be a ton of fun.

We're definitely going to see if it works out. Our first priority though is a game at Arrowhead. It's been 7 years since she's been there.

next year, 2019-2020, we will plan a trip to the Chiefs vs. Miami game. SB is in Miami. In the 2020-2021 season we play the Bucs in Tampa. The SB is in Tampa. Coincidence? I think not. :D

Cool! Thanks for the offer. I'd bet that BBQ they offer in the tent is that "Florida BBQ", swimming in that molasses/brown sugar/honey sauce.

Trust me it will be Bono's....and you don't want it.

I wish we did...I tried when I first moved here in 2016 but couldn't get enough interest to make it work.

Now I usually just watch here at the house with the family. But I know at least 5 others who are Chiefs fans who want to go...along with my wife and son.

You want some help to get it off the ground? We are going to launch Arrowhead South - Sarasota and Arrowhead South - Orlando this off season. We can add Arrowhead South - Jacksonville. Share with you what worked for us, what grew our membership, what didn't. Post events on our site to help people find you etc.

BigRedChief 04-16-2019 06:30 PM

I'll be posting a link on Thursday to buy tickets.

The Jaguars need to determine pricing and what seats are available for group tickets, We are first inline for group tickets. Whatever they have, we get the best ones. You will be able to buy tickets directly from the Jaguars at the link in the "Chiefs" section that we have reserved. Arrowhead South is just coordinating with the Jags so we can all sit in the same section and represent the Chiefs, you buy directly from the Jags, get your tickets from them.

Right now we have 350+ wanting tickets without a confirmed date.

BigRedChief 04-17-2019 07:16 PM

I talked with the Jaguars front office tonight. This game will be sold out by this weekend. When Patrick Mahomes comes to your NFL town, it sells out. We have plenty of tickets but, When I post the link tomorrow, get your tickets ASAP.

BigRedChief 04-17-2019 08:06 PM

Yes, our seats are already blocked out by the Jags before they went on sale tonight to the public. We also get the group discount.

TravelingChiefs 04-18-2019 08:33 AM

I'm good for some tickets!

MahiMike 04-18-2019 08:56 AM

Well I'm in for 3. We got the worst week we could get didn't we? Hope it's hot in St Joe this summer to get our boys ready for the heat down here.

Your in Arrowhead South, correct? Ticketing is live now there. Going to be afternoon or early evening before the Jags give me the website and link for the rest of the tickets.

BigRedChief 04-18-2019 04:10 PM

Still no link from the Jags to buy tickets. The tickets were reserved and blocked out by the Jags before tickets went on sale. We are not getting worse seats or going to the back of the line. We were first in line for group tickets. We are still going to get the same tickets we were before tickets sales began.

Simply Red 04-18-2019 04:35 PM

I'm 88.62% sure I'll be able to attend (roughly)

Coochie liquor 04-19-2019 07:06 AM

Any link update to buy tix yet?

BigRedChief 04-19-2019 09:45 AM

You are buying tickets directly from the Jaguars secure site. Arrowhead South is not involved in any way with the purchase of the tickets or delivery of the tickets. The tickets will be in the “Chiefs” section.

We are working with the Jaguars front office to plan a BBQ competition tailgate. They are going to block off part of their parking lot to accommodate the 2 day event. We have the sponsors lined up to buy the meat. The competitors will cook the meat.

We may have to “ticket” the BBQ event through the Jaguars for security and logistical reason, But, entrance will be free. We will also eat the finished product for free. Details to follow. We are also working on several fun ideas and surprises at the tailgate. We will have a gathering of fans in the same spot after the game to celebrate our win.

We will be posting a link or code to rent rooms from the Hilton for around $40-$50 a night. Planning some “stuff” to do on Friday night and Saturday for those Chief fans that are making it a weekend trip.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is you’re the ordering information sent from the Jaguars

There are 236 seats available for purchase by Chief fans only in section 433.

https://fevo.me/arrowheadsouth

Evidently the delay has occurred because the Jaguars have been trying to remove a additional $4.00 credit card fee when Chief fans order the tickets at the link. You want to order right now the additional fee will be applied. The Jaguars expect to have the additional fee removed sometime today. I’ll update the fans when the additional fee has been removed,

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to purchase the lower level seats from the Jags:

In the 100 level section that I have 50 seats reserved is section 124. They are $136 each, Please have the Arrowhead South group email Alexa Onley (olneya@nfl.jaguars.com) or call/text at (904) 633-4673. If they call, please have them leave a voicemail. Email and text is preferred.

If you want to sit in the better, more expensive seats, just contact Alexa and she will make it happen. She will try to put you with other Chief fans at that price point.

BigRedChief 04-19-2019 10:57 AM

From the Jags and Alexa:

we are moving the lower level block from 124 to 125. I can get the group about 5 rows closer. Everyone will be together.

Thats right by the tunnel where the Chiefs will come out.

007 04-20-2019 01:10 AM

Man I wish I could justify the trip. Just too many things hitting us in the wallet lately.

BigRedChief 04-20-2019 10:21 AM

The link is still active this weekend to buy tickets in the upper levels. If you want the lower level seats, You don't have to wait till Monday. Just email her your ticket order. Alexa will start working through our ticket requests on Monday, She is processing the orders on a first in, first served basis.
