The Beastie Boys definitely do that stuff. They like giving nods to old references and acts, too.

Biz Markie was great. I was looking for an old Big Daddy Kane song "Just Rhymin with Biz" but I couldn't find a decent one. It's one of the great early rap songs. Big Daddy Kane was outstanding on it.
