Need help computer guys

So I'm looking at buying a new laptop for the girlfriend and I and want some suggestions from you guys who know this world better than I do I can get the most bang for my buck

I will use it for games and YouTube mostly..some internet browsing as well..games will include Cities Skyline..Out of the Park Baseball..games along that line..nothing too intense and pretty simple..no Call of Duty or anything heavy like that

She will be using it to finish her college courses up and will need the Microsoft Office package or what're it's called with Word Excel..and all of those..she will also browse online but no games or anything like that for here

Wanting to stay under a $1000 for it

Don't need a DVD player or anything like that cause my games come off Steam
Would like a SSD that can hold Operating System and the games and stuff like that for quick load times

Basically I want all of the things and pay the best price possible under $1000

You're going to need a pretty bad ass processor to run Cities.

Probably an i7 is recommended. I'd go to youtube and look at the i5 and i7 mobile CPU benchmarks with Cities to get an idea.

Exactly this. AI is taxing on a CPU.

Get the best CPU available within your budget, even if you have to give up other hardware or conveniences

good for a prebuilt

That's kind of what I thought and it's got a cool case so it looks good..it will be easy to upgrade..it's got a spot for a M.2 card so I have a 480G on its way here and new Ram that's up to 3000 instead of 2133 and a couple more fans for the cas..it unfortunately only had the CPU cooler fan that is stock Intel cooler and one fan for the case
