If Garoppolo can get a 2nd round pick then Alex is worth at least a first rounder.

I think him having one more year on his contract will hurt his trade value.

You have a younger equivalent with more upside already.

At age 29 their numbers are almost identical.

A GM would have to be truly desperate to dump 30-year old Case Keenum coming of an Alexian-as-hell year for 34-year old Alex Smith.

So, the Eagles had Sam Bradford...

Vikings gave up a 2017 R1 and 2018 R4 (conditional, could have turned into a R3 or 4).

Prior to that, the Eagles traded with STL to get Bradford.
PHI gave up Foles, 2015 R4, 2016 R2
STL gave up Bradford, 2015 R5

So... yeah, dunno if you can use that as a reference point or not. I personally think the Vikings gave up too much to get him, but that's the price they believed they needed to pay.

Vikings have used Bradford, Teddy and Case in that timeframe... can't see them dumping another pick for Alex.
