One bright spot on the defense in Seattle
Looks like we have ourselves a NT. Nnandi looks really good.
First play of the game Nnandi holds his own against a double team and forces the RB to go to the other side. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxhj9"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxhj9.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> 2nd play of the game for the defense. This guy reads the play and makes a great tackle for a short gain. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxho2"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxho2.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> Few plays later. This was an excellent rush. Love the effort. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxhwx"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxhwx.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> Nnandi had to take a breather for a few plays. This was the first play Bailey checked in vs the run and look at what happened? They ran right at the mother****er and washed him completely out of the play. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxi3o"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxi3o.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> |
When I see a game replay, I usually ignore the ball and pick players to watch. When I watch Nnadi, I've been really impressed. He holds up at the point of attack. It's looking like he was a nice pick.
Back in the Kahlil McKenzie draft thread, there was a clip of him at the combine. I watched it, and some behemoth walked by randomly. I thought, "Dang, who's that guy", and start-stopped the video until I could figure it out. It was Nnadi. He's a big fella. |
2 guys trying to move him and he says “**** you!”
<a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxilt"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxilt.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> Yup. Not moving this man. He’s holding the point like a boss. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxir7"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxir7.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> This guy is pushing OL off him like “get the **** off me!”. Another good play by this man for a short run. <a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/2pxiu6"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/2pxiu6.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a> |

Nnadi is definitely talented and has looked good except for his habit of jumping offsides. It is the reason his playing time was cut back.

Number 39 was out of position at the goal line

Williams and Nnadi on the inside give us a solid run defense. We need to move Jones to the outside so he can do what he really wants to do and that's rush the passer. On the outside his sloppy gap responsibility won't hurt us as much. I still want our defensive to be a 4-3.
Our Defensive line can be: Jones, Williams, Nnadi, Houston Good run defense and decent pass rush Do we keep Ford? On passing downs our D-line switches to Ford, Jones, Nnadi, Houston |

Loved the pick when Veach made it. This boy can ball.

Williams, Nnadi and jones need to be our starting DE/NT/DE.

Kind of weird to me that our run defense is so bad with decent enough talent on the DL. Hittchens and Ragland must be just that bad. |

I don't watch other teams' games enough to make up my own mind on the subject, but I'd be very surprised if there's a worse ILB tandem in the league. Basically, they're blocking dummies for TEs and guards. Can't read. Can't react. Don't fill. Rarely tackle. All the things you need and want from your ILBs you won't find in ours. FAX |
