St. Patty's Fire 01-12-2019 09:18 PM

If we play the Pats: 38-14 Chiefs
If we play the Chargers: 29-28 Chiefs

pugsnotdrugs19 01-12-2019 09:19 PM

This is cool, but I feel like a fresh thread will be needed for the actual opponent

Guys, it doesn't matter. We have Mahomes. Start the Super Bowl rep thread. The man is jinx-free.

Hammock Parties 01-12-2019 09:36 PM

This is the best team in the AFC.

It always was.

The only reason we thought otherwise was the stupid-ass media and a couple of dumbass plays against the Chargers.

We are the best team in the AFC and looked more dominant today than we have all year.

We're going to crush the Pats.

stumppy 01-12-2019 09:44 PM

This statistic is going to change a lot in the future.

1st time in 15 years the AFCCG hasn't been played at either New England, Pittsburg, Indianapolis, or Denver. Those SOB's days are over.

Replace all those locations with "Kansas City" and it won't change all that much.

Don't get me wrong - I think there are a variety of logistical issues with allowing game threads to be posted whenever. What's to stop someone from starting a Game 1 2019 thread?

But for now? **** it. As the Chiefs have been saying...let's roll.

First AFCCG in KC, ever, which reminds me: The Lamar Hunt Trophy will be somewhere in Arrowhead Sunday.

Absolutely can not let it ****in' leave there.

As great as the Arrowhead crowd was today, it's gonna be even crazier next week. Game starts 2 hours later...night games are always louder. Place is gonna be electric!

God I wish I could be there.

Fortunately for me (us) we'll have Pat and a competitive team for years to come. Hopefully next year I'll be physically capable of making the trip, no.. the pilgrimage to Arrowhead

MMXcalibur 01-12-2019 11:22 PM

I have been impressed by Jordan Lucas and Charvarius Ward. Their strong play is what gives me some hope against the Chargers' air attack.

In all honesty, I think we match up better vs the Patriots.

Even if the Chargers were the better matchup I'd still want the Pats. I want to see the faces of each and every Patriots player, coach, and fan the moment the realize the dynasty is over.

It was fever pitch.

Everyone in that stadium brought it all game long until the deal was done.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-13-2019 12:10 AM

I can’t even explain this feeling.

Y’all realize that if we get that defense, or even close to it, for the next two games..... we’re very likely hoisting the Lombardi.

I am scared of absolutely no potential opponent. They should be scared of us.

Mahomes has never played an NFL game on turf. You think he's gonna struggle in Atlanta? Not with his weapons on an idealized surface.

We played in that exact stadium in the preseason when Mahomes threw the bomb to Tyreek

We were talking about this in the car on the way back.

Mahomes might throw for 600 yards in a dome against a mediocre Saints D with two weeks to prep.

pugsnotdrugs19 01-13-2019 12:28 AM

Here’s the thing about the Saints, the team I expect to see in the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are just more talented IMO. The matchups to me are pretty favorable for KC. And as they proved today, they can get pressure on even the best of offensive lines with just 4 rushers. I like our offensive weapons as a whole a lot more, and the biggy.... Mahomes > Brees.

Any SB would be tough and a good game but I feel confidence. I believe wholeheartedly that this is our year.

Luck did a nice job running away from pressure today.

Brees isn't that mobile, and on turf, Dee Ford, my GOD.

The only way I see KC losing is if a team pounds the rock through their defense for a full four quarters with success.

I don’t think that’s impossible, but it certainly looks a lot tougher now than it did a month ago.

The thing about this football team, the thing that gives me the most faith, is the immeasurable things. They really believe in each other and they play their asses off for each other, not themselves. They’re a family.

That’s ****ing dangerous when you’re already just more physically gifted than most of your opponents.

If the Chiefs play defense like they did yesterday, the only team that has a chance of beating them is the Rams.

Naptown Chief 01-13-2019 12:35 AM

If the defense that was on that field today shows up next week it won't matter who we play. There can be 11 Jesus Christs on that field and we will destroy them. Today's defense will win the Superbowl.

Edit- replace today with yesterday. Yesterday was so amazing I almost don't want it to end, except that's mean next week wouldn't come..

pugsnotdrugs19 01-13-2019 12:35 AM

In a perfect world, I want Brady and then Brees. Give me two statues back there. Our rush will make enough plays I think to win it all.

They impressed me with their ground game tonight but I think McVay will be more hesitant to pound the rock like that if he’s playing an offense that can really apply pressure on his own O, unlike the Cowboys

The run defense is completely transformed if Nnadi is a force like he was today.

We might have seen a defensive breakthrough the last two weeks.

jaa1025 01-13-2019 12:57 AM

I don't care who the Chiefs play because we are SB bound regardless.

NE--We are much more talented with this game at home, I'm taking KC. Gordon is gone. They have Edelman and a hobbled Gronk. Brady isn't the same Brady and this defense is much different than the one that played them early in the year. NE is done with being the NFL darling so I'd expect to be treated fairly by the refs.

LAC--This will be the 4th road game in a row. I'm not sure how much that affects players but I'd think it would start wearing them down. Especially since it's back to back cross country (Baltimore and NE). Rivers is a choke artist in big games. Their win was a fluke and it should be 10 straight going into this game. They won't have the refs calling bs PI for them.

Marty’s info may have been legit, in fact, I think it likely was. But still yet, credit to the players for stepping up their effort and intensity above all else.

I am not worried about other teams running game. It is useful if they get a lead, but look what it did to the Colts in the second half- they were burning valuable time off the clock. Running the ball was hurting their chances to get the 3 scores back they were behind. Oh no, they ripped off a 7 yard run- but they also burned a minute twenty off the clock. Teams will have to keep up through the air.

I agree. I think it was much easier for LA to run tonight because they knew that the Dalllas passing game was a minor threat at best.

It sure seemed like Gurley was pissed in his post game press conference. I don’t think he’s liking this carry splitting thing whatsoever.

We have been hearing about other teams running game all year- Jags, Ravens ect- but most abandoned them after falling behind 2 scores.

Our offense is so dynamic and explosive. We can beat teams with the long ball, short game, power running, reverses for TD's, gut them in the middle with Kelce. Colts were supposed to win the Time of Possession with their Powerful running game- but didn't work.

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 01-13-2019 01:17 AM

Nnadi was Veachs best pick. Guy is a absolute rock on run plays. He was 5 Yards in the backfield today

MAHOMO 4 LIFE! 01-13-2019 01:20 AM

Veach has been damn good! Picking up Damien Williams then extending him before the season was over to a reasonable contract. Signed Jordan Lucas who is excellent back there. Found a straight monster in Wylie. And traded for what could be a gem in Chavarious Ward. Veach may not of had the best draft picks but his under the radar signings have been phenomenal.

Nnadi has been excellent, considering where he was picked. Tremon Smith hasn't contributed on defense but he's was the 3rd-best kick returner in the league, IIRC. DOD - the jury is still out. He had some good and some bad and now he's hurt. Speaks actually looked decent for the most part today. Maybe this draft will turn out okay.

The Saints and Rams are really similar but I think the Saints are actually the better team. I don't know why but the Rams just don't have that "look". For all fo the stars they signed, that defense isn't all that good.

Guys just hope and pray the mighty Eagles can take down Brees and company because when we make it to the Superbowl the NFL will try and rig it for old man Brees.

A send-off to retirement game then they'll give Mahomes regular season MVP as consolation.

Saints cannot get to the SB by any measure or we will get fcked by Goodell.

Anyone criticizing Veach is a nimrod. He’s the one who
identified Mahomes as the guy very early and obsessively chased him. That alone should earn him a lot of slack. But he’s also made solid moves so far. This year’s draft can’t be judged yet. Appears to at least be decent.

I think he's concentrating on the wrong QB. I honestly doubt the Patriots get by the Chargers this week.
