Went to see MC Breed and Getto Boys in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Long story, but it involved a friend getting robbed, seeing a mob of Crips/GDs just walk to the front of the line and enter as if they owned the place, having a guy sitting next to us offer us his pistol because, "you white boys is going to need it 'fore the night is over," and waiting like 4 hours for Getto Boys to show up while witnessing countless fights of pissed off concertgoers. We eventually left because we feared for our lives, but the upshot: we got on the Getto Boys' tour bus, and I shook Bushwick Bill's hand.

that's a pretty cool story, I'm a fan of his, he was always a tad underated.

I've told this story before on here, before. There is a street in West Atlanta called Bouldercrest, it's an exit off of 285, 285 basically circles 2/3rd of the city.

Anyhow - back in 1997ish, I was installing pool-tables for a living. I get to work one morning, and me a my install partner 'Seymour' who was about ten yrs older than me and looked like Green Days lead singer. Anyhow, one morning we check our daily work schedule and there's a job off of Bouldercrest. The name reads: "Todd Shaw" - and it dawned on me that it could be Too Short, well our manager confirmed, It was Too Shorts Mom's place.

We roll up and and it's only what was assumed to be his brothers, they were OPENLY smoking bud. It smelled like pine. Really Really strong, and they totally didn't care!

This sounds like BS - but i swear this is how it happened.

We get started on the install, the whole house starts rattling after about ten minutes of installing or prepping.

Seymour goes to the car to get the Level. It's Short Dog in a silver Porsche convertable, Seymore reported!

I was estatic, his walls in the 'pool room' had two gold records - and one was 'I Aint Trippin' -- this is the god's honest truth. Additionally he had Rap magazines scattered. The place was probably a 3000sf home. Short Dog comes upstairs, he kept saying over and over - It's all good.... That was his favorite saying, he was SUPER low-key, almost like he was sleep walking. But a very cool and nice fellow.

I did my share of just weird ass traveling, partying, and going where the four winds blew for many years. I was very Taoist in philosophy and just liked to go with the flow and sort of feel where the universe was nudging me. I was up for anything about would drop whatever I was doing to go in a new direction if it felt right to me.

I really wish I would have been better about writing down all the shit that happened during those days because that philosophy (and the lack of responsibility or commitment to anyone or anything) led to some bizarre, surreal experiences. The sad part is that I am a writer, but I wasn't really recording much about what I was experiencing at the time because I always thought I'd write about it later in life after reflection. Now I can hardly remember half that shit because it was experienced under such... hazy... circumstances.

Wow, your post sounded like I would've wrote it. Not so much the going where the universe moved me part (which is cool by the way) but the having so many crazy experiences while being a writer, but never writing anything down. Trippy
