Netflix: Luke Cage

Thought I'd posted the first teaser a few months ago, but I'm not finding a thread.

Here's the latest:

So does the main baddy have any powers or just a normal gangster?

What's to stop Cage from just snapping him in half??

Selective breeding.

But really, it was this:

Quote:

Later, research scientist Dr. Noah Burstein recruited Lucas as a volunteer for experimental cell regeneration based on a variant of the Super-Soldier process he had previously used to empower Warhawk. Burstein immersed Lucas in an electrical field conducted by an organic chemical compound; when he left Lucas unattended, Rackham misused the experiment's controls, hoping to maim or kill Lucas. Lucas's treatment was accelerated past its intent, inducing body-wide enhancement that gave him superhuman strength and durability. He used his new power to escape Seagate and made his way back to New York, where a chance encounter with criminals inspired him to use his new powers for profit.

This is the one I've been waiting for the most.

I was never a DD fan or Iron fist fan. I mostly got into cage his 2nd solo series in the late 80's/early 90's.

I loved what they did with him in civil war as well and that's what really brought him back into the mainstream of the Marvel U (comics.)

Between this, Dr. Strange, and Thor/Hulk I'm in geek heaven this next 12 months...

About a week away. Early reviews are pretty good.

If Daredevil is the action movie and Jessica Jones is the noir, Luke Cage is the throwback 70s movie corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Everything from composition to score screams classic 70s – particularly old school, blaxploitation 70s.

Episode 1 was great. Will binge tonight and tomorrow. Looks like Marvel/Netflix have another hit.
