Haven't seen Luke Cage yet, but going through Daredevil for the second time (this time with Mrs. FMB!). It's definitely worth watching, regardless of Luke Cage.

Damn, I couldn't place him. I knew him from some show but hell if I could remember.

I would start with Daredevil. You'll enjoy it. Watch both seasons, then catch Jessica Jones - which is where Luke Cage comes in.

I think the actual order of release would be good. DD, JJ, DD2, LC.

Yup. Probably would be the best order. But, you can get away with watch both DD first.

So I guess I'd say it's good but in the end my third favorite behind daredevil and jessica jones. Seemed to me like it was half shaft, half the wire, which sounds awesome in theory, but the execution just wasn't quite up to the level of the other two. Still good stuff, though. I'll go into more details later once more people have watched the whole season.

I'd agree with this. The fight scenes were fun, but early on they seemed very stiff. Got better as the show went on. Richard Roundtree (Shaft) was on the "doesn't pay" list at Pop's.

I thought everything about the show felt stiff early on. The first episode wasn't bad, exactly, but the whole thing felt a little off. Slow, like they were trying too hard. It settled down though. For the most part. Some bumps later on but never quite as bad as the first ep. Second ep set the tone, though...

I liked Cottonmouth better as a villain than Diamondback.

I could see that. Unfortunately both were mediocre when compared with Fisk, the Punisher, and the Purple Man.

Shades is the biggest snake of them all too. He always slithers in and out of everyone else's problems.

The way they handled Cottonmouth was the weakest part of the season, although Diamondback's introduction and subsequent appearances were pretty bad, too.

I thought Harlem Hillary was the best villain of them all...

I didn't have a problem with her. I had a problem with the way they abruptly turned her. It needed to be set up and foreshadowed, not just a random act of violence after a throwaway sexual abuse reference.

Agreed, but the explosive turn was great. Just needed something more to set up the turn.
