Thus far Notre Dame has beaten teams from the ACC, Big 10, Big XII, Pac XII, Big East.

Now they'll have to play a real team from a real conference, and they will be raped.

Eh, I don't really get the Notre Dame hate this year, and I've been just as annoyed with all the hype/media coverage/Lou Holtz over the past 20 years than anyone.... they beat MSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Stanford (and USC without Barkley)... they went undefeated. They're #1 in the computer rankings. I don't think they'll beat Alabama, but I don't think Georgia, Florida, KSU, or Oregon would either.

Spott 11-24-2012 10:26 PM

I hate ND, but at least Florida is getting screwed by them.

Yes, the number one ranked defense in the country that just held USC to 13 points is "complete shit".

Be careful, your reerun is showing.:p

DaKCMan AP 11-24-2012 10:26 PM

ND has some nice players - Riddick, Nix, the TE. Teo is an absolute beast. But their line won't get that push against an elite SEC defense.

GloryDayz 11-24-2012 10:27 PM

It's funny how during the Mizzou game they said Gary has a tough job recruiting in his own state, but look at ND... Southbend, IN!!! Just funny!

The beauty is we are going to find out in January. If the Irish get manhandled by whoever they play, I will be the first one to declare the SEC's dominance.

What does USC being unranked have to do with how good their offense is? You are a complete moron. I would be upset if I was a Florida fan too. They have the best resume of any of the one loss teams, but don't let your anger turn you into a bumbling idiot.

Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Ole Miss... some AMAZING teams in the SEC.

Chiefs Pantalones 11-24-2012 11:09 PM

Congrats to ND. Magnificent season. Good luck in the title game.

Ultra Peanut 11-25-2012 01:41 AM

So Memphis ends its time in C-USA and goes into recruiting on a three game winning streak with consecutive dominating wins over its two biggest conference rivals. They've looked totally different since halftime of the Marshall game and it's indescribably cool to follow a football team that looks like it knows what the **** it's doing again.

Quote:

After going 2-22 in C-USA the previous three seasons, the Tigers (4-8) finished 4-4 in league play. The U of M's overall four victories are the most since 2008, when the Tigers went 6-6 before losing in the St. Petersburg Bowl.

There couldn't have been a sweeter send-off for 16 seniors, many of whom endured the worst four-year stretch (9-39) in the program's 100-year history.

"This is a real confidence booster going into the offseason," said Tiger running back Brandon Hayes, a walk-on who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
Hahahaha Jesus Christ. At least I had the Chiefs to lift my spirits!

This will change next week, but Florida is 4-1 against BCS Top 13 teams. The top 3 in the BCS are a combined 4-2 against BCS Top 13 teams. :)

DaKCMan AP 11-26-2012 07:19 AM

So the BCS should shake out like this?

BCS NC - Notre Dame vs. Alabama/Georgia

Rose Bowl - Nebraska/Wisconsin vs UCLA/Stanford
Orange Bowl - FSU/Ga-Tech vs. Louisville/Rutgers/Syracuse/Cincinnati

The Fiesta/Sugar then selects from the remaining:
1. Oklahoma/K-State
2. Florida/Georgia/Bama (whichever is ranked higher following the SECCG)
3. Oregon
4. Clemson or Oklahoma/K-State

Is this correct?

No. Fiesta is obligated to take the Big XII winner.

So, Fiesta will be either K-State or Oklahoma, based on the results of Saturdays games.

If both win, K-State will be the Fiesta bowl participant, and i'm guessing OU will get the Sugar Bowl slot. Of course a Non-AQ could sneak up and take it too.

So, hypothetically, the Fiesta could be an Oklahoma-K-State rematch.

The Sugar Bowl will likely get Florida/Georgia/Alabama.

The remaining possible teams for opponents for the Sugar & Fiesta are then Oregon and Oklahoma/K-State/Clemson.

It could be, but I highly doubt they would do that. Has there ever been a non-MNC BCS game that included 2 conference foes?

I see K-State vs Oregon in the Fiesta and OU vs Florida in the Sugar.

I don't think there has been.

Since the Fiesta has the B12 champ as an AQ the Sugar Bowl then gets first pick - which will be Florida/Bama/Georgia. Then the Fiesta gets to pick again - probably Oregon. Then the Sugar will choose the final team - likely OU or K-State.

Regardless, there will be ~4 top-10 teams shut out of the BCS.

SEC teams are going to run roughshod over their bowl opponents. Those teams left out of the BCS will get matched up against inferior teams.

And, as usual, it will probably be something like the #2 or #3 team from a conference vs. the SEC #4 or #5 team, and the SEC will still dominate.
