</header> A Dutch child-rights organization has opened my eyes to a new form of child exploitation. This video is safe for work but will hurt your stomach.

Watch how they gauged the scale of the problem with a 10-week online sting using the help of someone named "Sweetie."

Maybe they should just start making and selling thousands more virtual children to satisfy demand and underprice the real market. Problem solved.

Pretty cool stuff, though. I wish they would've shown more of an animation (non-obscene, of course). Some of the short clips looked like you'd figure out that it was an animation pretty quickly.

Make the video a little grainy and they would never know.

i'll be honest in that I can't watch it. I am going to assume it points out a huge problem and will recognize it as such but I find the entire thing sickening and gut wrenching.

They barely show anything and it still upset me a bit. An organization realized that men in first world countries were chatting with very young children in third world countries to initiate cyber sex sessions. So they developed a "sting" of sorts via chat but wanted to really catch the predators doing stuff that could not be denied to authorities. Rather than expose a real child to that, they used CGI to create a virtual child. It was realistic enough (perhaps because of the low quality of webcam video) that they caught many of them and sent the evidence to the respective countries of residence of the predators.

I watched it. I appreciate that you took the time to give me the low down. TBH, I never considered that aspect of it.

Sickos all around the world.

Halfcan 03-10-2014 08:34 AM

Hope they put these perverts in jail for a very long time.

Garcia Bronco 03-10-2014 09:01 AM

They are sickos, but what did they do that was illegal? Say inapropriate things and expose themselves to a piece of software/application? I don't know if that's good enough to put people in jail.

BlackHelicopters 03-10-2014 12:11 PM

I can't watch this video. Don't want to be sick to my stomach.

Child pornography is illegal. Child prostitution is illegal. Sex with minors is illegal. As long as there is a demand for it, people will keep producing it. And as long as people keep producing it, they'll have to keep abducting little girls and raping them and beating them until they are forced into pornography/prostitution/sex trafficking.

A common misconception is that this type of stuff only happens overseas, but it's more common than you'd like to believe in our own country. Sex trafficking is the second leading criminal activity in the world, behind only drug trafficking, and our cities are not exempt to it.

They don't know that "Sweetie" is a piece of software/application. They believe they are jerking off to a 10 year old and asking her to take her clothes off and play with herself. You don't think that is enough to put people in jail?

I think it is sick as well but they don't allow a guy to walk if he thinks a girl is 18 when she is 16 so shouldn't the opposite also be true?

I just don't think they can convict on this alone.
