Nick Foles might have just landed the Chiefs a 3rd round comp pick

Quote:

As the NFL explains, compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lose more or better compensatory free agents than they acquire. The number of picks a team can receive equals the net loss of compensatory free agents, up to a maximum of four. Compensatory free agents are determined by a secret formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. Not every free agent lost or signed is covered by the formula.
I'm guessing it's a 5th at the very worst, and probably a 3rd or 4th.

Discuss.

Pretty sure he had an option and we declined it so no pick

As far as I have been able to figure out, it doesn't count the same as if they had released him. Should still get a pick.

I'm curious what the Eagles will get for him this offseason.

carcosa 02-04-2018 09:40 PM

Should have kept him so Mahomes could study behind a Super Bowl caliber QB

HemiEd 02-04-2018 09:41 PM

I hope you are right pugs, picks are needed after a glut last year

Someone find the post of me saying Nick Foles is better than Alex Smith. It's from 2016 or 2017. Thanks

You're a dumbass.

If an option is declined in the proper time frame, he becomes a UFA and is comp eligible.

The Bad Guy 02-04-2018 09:47 PM

Chiefs will still get a pick because the term of his contract ended. He wasn't cut, the option was declined so it became a 1-year deal.

It'll probably be a 3rd. I don't know how the Super Bowl MVP nets less.

CaliforniaChief 02-04-2018 09:49 PM

If we do get the 3rd as compensation, it would seem that the curse may be broken as the era of Mahomes begins.

The Franchise 02-04-2018 09:52 PM

That’s be amazing to get a 3rd for Foles.

mcaj22 02-04-2018 09:53 PM

Chiefs should get a 3rd for the coach too

I want to believe, but it just sounds too good to be true.

BossChief 02-04-2018 09:59 PM

Wow. A second and 3 thirds would be amazing
