Just a mediocre defense, please! Can you imagine what this kid does with with a top 10 defense every year???

If the Chiefs kept only a consistent TWO premium play makers on offense throughout the entirety of his career combined with a top 10 defense, Mahomes could STILL retire the '73 Dolphins. MORE THAN ONCE.

Unbelievable season for Mahomes and our offense. I don't think anyone could have predicted he would be this good although some of you were very close. Props for that.

Now the real test comes, the playoffs.

PAChiefsGuy and I experienced Mahomes together at the game against Pittsburgh. It was magic. He's obviously hated on as a devout Alex Smith defender but he left that game saying he was completely wrong and never seen anything like it. He was (relatively) quick to believe.

Well I would certainly ****ing hope so. I mean god damn, that's like comparing rotten apples to a perfectly sculpted island babe hand feeding you fresh fruit while playing with your tension rod.

Perfect analogy.

Great post. I understand what you are saying- and I agree. If Mahomes wins 10 games with that tough schedule, puts up 4k in yards and 30 Td's, we win the West again and at least a playoff game- that would be an amazing 2nd year for him. Wins are the best stat.

With that said- I still have this feeling that Mahomes is going blow things up.

I think the standard that we judge QB's now is going to change with these young guns coming in and more wide-open offenses. A 300-yard game will become the average and a 400-yard game will be the measuring stick of a great game.

All signs indicate that Reid is going to come out with something different the NFL has not seen before. It will take teams a while to adjust. Unless I am completely missing something with the signing of Sammy- this offense will be the best in Chiefs history (at least on paper). This is why I said less than 2 TD's a game seemed low. We saw Watson put up eye-popping numbers in Houston last year- I think Mahomes will so the same.

I am going on Record with these numbers:

31.33 completions per game X 16 games= 501.28 X 9.2 per attempt= 4612 Total passing yards.

63% completion on 49.73 attempts per game. 2.3 TD's per game X 16= 36.8 rounded up to 37 Total passing TD's

27 yards per game rushing X 16 games = 432 Total Rushing Yards

.04 Rushing TD's per game X 16 games= 4 Rushing TD's

.90 INTs per game X 16 = 14.5 rounded up to 15 INTs.

Mahomes blew past my highest expectations. I took a lot of "Homer" shit predicting stats this high, but I knew he was going to be amazing!

Nope, I tried to tell him Mahomes was going to be great. Still, people are doubting him with the one and done shit.

I'm doubting Reid, the defense, and the team as a whole, NOT PMII.

Mahomes isn't scared, he has the physical tools to dominate at this level.

The unknown is his mental ability and I think we saw a sample of mental maturity in the Denver game.

Once Harris caught that first pass, it was on. Mahomes was locked and I don't think we have to worry about looking back.

The 48 year wait is over, enjoy it. This team is going to piss the NFL and the LA bandwagon off. They know it, that is why they started the schedule out 3 of 4 on the road.

It is all about LA but the Chiefs are going to spoil that party. 12-4 with a trip to the AFC championship game being the floor.

Hmmm, kind of nailed it here. :harumph:

I love how I spend the early part of this thread arguing at how 'unrealistic' it is to EXPECT a 50 TD 5000 yard season.

I STILL think that's an unrealistic expectation of a first year starter. It's a full blown optimistic and borderline unfair expectation of a first year starter... and yet here we sit.

And I expected a pretty good ****ing season.
