How do I stream games on Sony tv?

I’m about ready to cut the Directv cord. I’m going to try to stream the game today and if I can get it to work I’m finally going to tell Directv to piss off!

My question is, anyone have a newer Sony tv that they stream games on? I’ve used the reddit link before on my LG tv and if worked. But my big Sony TVs don’t have a web browser, at least I’ve not found one.

So if anyone has some insight with how to stream on a Sony, that would be awesome! Thanks!

Oh and if the streaming works on the Sony TVs, I’m switching to Hulu. Evidently YouTube TV doesn’t play well with Sony TVs. Hulu is only available on my LG and Sony TVs. So Hulu it is

Hook it up to a computer.

You need a device to steam with, like a Chromecast, Amazon fire stick, etc

This. Doesn't matter what kind of TV you have if you use a streaming device. Just plug it in to a HDMI port and go. I personally use firesticks in my TV's. Works great. You can get one for about $40, so the investment is minimal and you can usually do a lot more with a firestick than you can a smart TV.

This is how I do it when needed, but haven't tried the firestick yet. Will have to try it.

If its a smart TV with Hulu installed then that's the way to go. I would advise to get Hulu Live as well for the extra 15 a month. you will be able to get your local channels as well. If you don't have a smart TV then Roku or amazon fire stick is a good option.

Do you have WIFI to use the plugin devices?

Most new Sony (android) TVs have chromecast built in. Just open the reddit stream via chrome on your computer and cast it right to the tv. Just Google this exact question and assuming your tv had built in chromecast it will take less than a minute.

Yea I think chromecast is built into my TVs cuz I have Netflix and Hulu built in. But there’s not a web browser so I didn’t know how to get to the reddit website. I will try the computer casting to tv soon as the noon games start. I also have a fire stick but never use it since everything is built into the tv

My god. Just buy an HDMI cable (possibly mini-displayport to HDMI) and plug your laptop into the TV. It's not rocket science.

Provide the specs for your laptop and I will link you to a cable. If you can't do this you don't deserve to watch shit.

I don’t have a laptop dick. I have a smart TV with no web browser

Buy a cheap laptop for like $150. Done.

SupDock 09-15-2019 10:27 AM

Firestick has a web browser. You could also download Firefox, etc on the firestick as an app.

This. It's very straightforward.

Cord Cutter here. DO IT. DirectTV is a rip-off, and 99.9% of the channels are bullshit anyway.

Also, I believe Amazon Prime allows you to watch all Thursday Night Football games.
