The injury is not seen as career threatening.

Girsch said the second opinion that Reyes got from Dr. Anthony Romeo in Philadelphia confirmed what the Cardinals' doctors had seen and surgery was done.

"Based on that exam and the understanding that, because there was some fraying between the lat and the bone, based on that, they decided to do surgery after consulting with our doctors," Girsch said. "He had surgery to reattach the tendon to the bone and the good news is the tendon was partially frayed and not completely torn off which means there was good blood flow which means they're very optimistic for recovery."

Cardinals only going to get 1 year of pre-arb, assuming his arm doesnt simply fall off the next time he throws, out of a guy who's only managed to pitch 50 innings.

Reyes is damaged goods.

Matheny is/was/will always be a problem for this team. I don’t see how we can’t do better no matter who would replace Matheny.

You do know Albert signing with the Angels was actually a good thing for the Cardinals right?

I never criticized him for leaving.

I criticized him for saying it had anything to do with something other than money. God told him to do it. It was about respect. All that shit was just irritating.

He wanted 10 years - the Cardinals offered it to him and he got huffy because it wasn't a high enough AAV. They jumped the AAV up to A-Rod territory but only over 7 years and he got huffy because it wasn't 10. Then he played the 'disrespect' card and insisted that a 30 minute phonecall with Arte Moreno made him feel truly valued.

No, Arte offered you the biggest pile of money. And after spending 10 years insisting that it wasn't all about seeking the biggest contract and playing up your love of the Cardinals and their history, you did the same thing that everyone does - you took the money and ran.

He's just another hypocrite so his wailing over a Cardinal icon rings damn hollow to me.

ROFL

That’s a good snapshot where the team is in the majority of the fans minds. It’s not about the wins/losses, it’s just a shitty brand of baseball. It’s a total regression from the teams we were use to seeing for decades. Even if we lost, we played sound baseball and didn’t beat ourselfs. We tried our best, hustled. I blame this on Matheny.

Listen to a couple of podcasts this afternoon. According to them the fan base is on the edge of a major revolt. Fans are fed up with watching this crap. Even when we win, it’s a bland win with no flavor.

Considering that he hasn't really made pitching a priority in the draft/minors I think he's doing a pretty good job.
