Why the **** anyone would think this guy can help them is beyond me.

McDaniels and Brady didn’t even need to audible in the crowd noise. Lol.

He's being hired as a Senior Citizen Assistant?

Red Zone Greeter.

chiefzilla1501 02-11-2019 09:30 AM

Was he hired as a senior defensive assistant.
Or a defensive assistant who is a senior.

Unclear.

The Franchise 02-11-2019 09:34 AM

Falcons hired Bob Sutton as a senior assistant.

Sutton was fired after six years in charge of the Chiefs' defense just a couple weeks ago. Coach Dan Quinn is expected to work as the defensive coordinator this season and call the plays, but Sutton should play a major role in game planning as well as helping with "in-game strategy, clock management, time-out usage, and replay review." Sutton oversaw a defense which was routinely near the top of the league in takeaways during his time in Kansas City.

Bob. It's OK to collect social security. It really is.

stevieray 02-11-2019 10:03 AM

As much as people wanted him gone, you sure are having hard time letting him go.

...move on.

Buckweath 02-11-2019 10:09 AM

Sutton is being made a scapegoat by a lot of fans here.

He was the Chiefs DC when they had an elite defense for a few years.

It is obvious he was not doing a good job recently but really he was not the only problem with the defense.

He was by far our biggest problem. However he's a very smart coach who was no longer good enough to be a DC. I agree that he still has a lot to offer if he's used right. Just glad it's not us.

ChiefBlueCFC 02-11-2019 10:18 AM

It always surprises me how coaches get regurgitated even when they are god awful at their last place of employment.

mikeyis4dcats. 02-11-2019 10:20 AM

don't care as long as it's not here. Actually, if he really sucks that bad, we should be happy he's got a job.

RunKC 02-11-2019 10:24 AM

Thought he would get a job like this. He’s pretty much an analyst with a voice on gameplanning, like Brad Childress was here in KC on the offensive side of the ball.

Red Dawg 02-11-2019 10:31 AM

Why? Why would any team do this? Bob helping gama plan? He doesn't have a plan.

dj56dt58 02-11-2019 10:40 AM

All they need now is Justin Houson, Eric Berry, Dontari Poe and Derrick Johnson all in their primes

GloryDayz 02-11-2019 10:44 AM

Perhaps he can assist on advising about spirits, heel injuries, and how to beat the buffet line.

notorious 02-11-2019 10:51 AM

“How do you think we should defend this offense, Bob?”

“ blah blah blah blah”

“Thanks Bob”. Coach motions for him to leave the room, Bob exits.

“Okay, now that we know what to avoid, let’s build the game plan”

Hoover 02-11-2019 10:55 AM

Frankly I'm surprised he wants to work.

Our elite defenses under Bob were never that elite.

Yeah......what? Did I miss something here? "Elite"? When the hell did this happen?

Coach, coach, coach...I have a bold new strategy for you to try here in the ATL, I call it "Bend then snap, BTS for short"! I perfected it in the KCMO, now YOU can reap its rewards here in the ATL my man... Hire some broke-dick whiners, pay them top dollar to do nothing, and you set the table for many trips to/through the buffet line of snappage...

Love always,

Bob "BTS" Sutton

I'd argue that game planning was Sutton's strength. It was in-game adjustments that he was terrible at. How many times this last season did the defense basically shut down the opposing team through most of the first half, only to fall apart after the two minute warning and all through the second half?

Sutton may actually be able to help the Falcons in this capacity. The odd thing to me is that Quinn runs Seattle's 4-3 Under system where I believe Bob has always been a 3-4 guy but maybe he isn't even that involved in that part of it, just a general game plan.

Reerun_KC 02-11-2019 12:11 PM

Trash league rehashes trash.

baitism 02-11-2019 12:30 PM

Falcons fans are pumped about it. Don't know why.

OR

The defense was good despite Sutton.

Sure he does. Be wildly predictable and never change or disguise anything ever.

When he first got here I loved him. Much like Dorsey.

But as time went on he got less aggressive, blitzed less, and became more and more predictable.

Same reason we pump up trash we rehash here.

People are pumped with a less than mediocre stale Spagnola. Why? Because he’s Chiefs.

A dung beetle that had landed in watery shit would be better than Bob "BTS" Sutton though...

scho63 02-11-2019 03:10 PM

If that's true, Falcons just gave up an extra 7 points a game.

Hell, they probably just gave up 7 extra wins period.

Sweet Daddy Hate 02-12-2019 08:30 AM

Bob clearly has tape on someone, but not an offense.

bobhill 02-12-2019 11:26 AM

maybe bob doesn't know he got hired and has family in Atlanta

Gravedigger 02-12-2019 11:30 AM

Must be rough being a Tennessee Titans fan or Atlanta Falcons fan to keep getting our sloppy seconds.

LongSufferingToady 02-12-2019 12:30 PM

I hear that Sutton also was the Captain of the Titanic

Sweet Daddy Hate 02-12-2019 03:16 PM

When I think of Sutton and butt-boy Peeholi working together, the only regret I have is that they aren't both employed by New England.

Coochie liquor 02-12-2019 04:34 PM

Somebody needs to pick up the candy wrappers in the stairwells.

Sweet Daddy Hate 02-12-2019 09:20 PM

Know what else? Ol' Bobert and Peeholi need a joint project to work together on down in Atlanta. Something they can both relate to, something that can break the ice and get that partnership rolling.

I'm thinking something that would be good for their collective......spirit?

Spoiler!

Flying High D 02-13-2019 07:47 AM

Spirit Coordinator needs to head back home to ATL to join Buttons.
