There was a running joke that Milkman (who, incidentally, I just posted about in the missing persons thread) was his dad. I'm not sure how that got started.

booger 05-10-2020 09:28 PM

Damn. Prayers to his family friends and all loved ones
RIP

Stryker 05-10-2020 09:28 PM

OMG! This is so sad - such awful news. God rest his soul.

Eleazar 05-10-2020 09:33 PM

RIP. He was definitely a big part of this place.

ChiTown 05-10-2020 09:36 PM

This is such incredibly sad news. Mike was an awesome dude, and he will be greatly missed. I apologize if it has already been stated, but how did he pass? TIA

lcarus 05-10-2020 09:37 PM

Losing too many good people around here lately it seems. At least Flop got to see the Chiefs win the Super Bowl.

And yeah I also wonder about Milkman. I remember talking to him on "Home of the Chiefs" message board way back in the day. And when I finally started posting here, I saw him and got excited and said "Hey Milkman I know you!!!@!! What's Up!" and he was just like "calm the **** down. hi."

Jesus.

Demonpenz 05-10-2020 09:46 PM

He said whatever he thought. Most people that would be annoying but since he was a good dude it was ok. I didn't know he lost his mod spot here. That sucks. Chiefsplanet lost it's burst long time ago.

Thanks for the SoC movement.

Direckshun 05-10-2020 10:13 PM

Mike was such a fascinating guy.

His presence on social media was so aggressively positive, while aggressively open about the struggles he had been suffering through. Some of those struggles were personal demons, some of them were professional difficulties. But his attitude was almost always apocalyptically positive — “I am going to face these problems head on and I will slay each and every dragon I meet.”

He was so, so open. I was only a follower and not a close friend but I could always tell how NOT full of himself he was. “Yes, times are difficult. Yes, I will find a way to win and be happy. No, I am not perfect, and yes, I will always be a work in progress.”

That attitude was always so endearing, and so utterly him. I’m saddened by the idea of this outspoken, gregarious guy falling completely silent.

I’m sorry we lost him. He seemed a good man and I always cared for him.

Chief Northman 05-10-2020 10:14 PM

RIP Flopnuts. Godspeed to his family.

Halfcan 05-10-2020 10:19 PM

Every encounter I ever had with him, whether on here, in person, or on Facebook was always positive. He had a great attitude and a wicked sense of humor. He was a loyal Chief fan and friend to many. RIP brother.

Sad 05-10-2020 10:24 PM

Man, that was not the news I needed to hear. Flop and I had a rather well publicized falling out on this board years back and I feel really bad we never squashed that beef. This shit always puts petty shit in to perspective and hopefully, if he can read this thread, he can know that I am sorry for saying the stuff I said about him and know that he had a heart of gold. Sigh. Truly heartbreaking news. RIP buddy, and if you're reading this somewhere, please know that I am sorry for being such a stubborn asshole.

TinyEvel 05-10-2020 10:49 PM

Well crap.

Mike was for sure an authentic guy and you always sorta knew what he was going through whether it be good or a struggle. We became friends when I'd come out there for games and/or really during the first weight loss challenge like 2010. He lost a lot of weight, probably the most straight-up pounds. He was the kind of guy you just wanted to hug and punch in the arm cuz he was the kind of guy you could feel safe and be yourself around.

On a side note: Take this opportunity, if you know somebody who's going up and down, especially right now with the Covid lockup or shut down, reach out to them and check in. Just let them know you're thinking about them and see if you can help in any way. Because you never know when/if you'll be able to talk to them again.

Be safe folks, take care of each other. RIP Mike. it was good to know you.

wazu 05-10-2020 10:57 PM

Simply Red 05-10-2020 11:54 PM

We shared a few of the same demons. Had heart-to-heart talks over the phone with Michael. Laughing a lot - other times; were in tears. I hate to read of this, I know he was scared a lot, when we had deep and real talks. I don't want to go any further, really. But I just know he's in a better place. Many T&P's go out to his family, I can't imagine what they're dealing with.

I was just getting started here back then. His representation there really gave the whole thing that much more legitimacy vs. some stupid mad fans.

I see a probable mult here called Sad. I think I know who that is and thought of him after hearing this news. But Sad's post should be taken to heart. Especially here.

HemiEd 05-11-2020 01:26 AM

scho63 05-11-2020 02:00 AM

Truly sad and not what I was expecting when I logged in tonight.

I didn't interact with him directly much but he was a real big presence here and well liked by just about everyone.

To pass so young really sucks. I hope he isn't leaving behind little kids.

RIP Flopnuts, you will be missed by many.

He was a truly genuine man with a heart of gold. Thankful for the moments I had with him and the wisdom and advice he gave me. See you on the other side!

I can tell you guys that he wasn't sick, and to my knowledge, wasn't suffering.

He probably would have told me if that was the case. We communicated infrequently, but regularly.

He went through a tough spot, but his life was on the upswing in the last few months. He got to see the Chiefs win the SB, and he had a girl he had absolutely no business banging hanging around.

So I'm certain his last days were pretty good. So I take some comfort in that.

Hate to hear this. Hopefully his loved ones are doing ok. He was a super nice guy on the board but I never met him in real life. It kind of sucked he ran off after the moderator fiasco but I know he posted a couple of times after that. Wish he would have stuck around, it wasn't anything personal. It just wasn't something that suited his personality, which was a great personality to have. Hopefully that made sense.

Let me tell you something that encapsulates what a good man Mike was. My mom passed away in fall 2016. Come February, which was her birthday month, Mike knew what I'd be going through & mailed me a big box of Oklahoma Joe's ribs, pulled pork, brisket, & sauce. We'd been facebook friends a while at that point, and he knew how much I love barbecue, and he also knew that I wasn't getting anything close to Kansas City quality in Philadelphia (where I've been living since 2014).

I rank that as one of the kindest, most meaningful gifts I've ever been given & it absolutely helped me navigate the pain of loss.

RIP Michael. I won't forget you. You'll be missed by a lot of people.
