Not sure why we are pMing? Myself and my guild (www.alttabme.com) will be rolling yaks bend.

I will be doing some pve but mostly WvW. I expect yaks bend to be a force to reckon with in WvW, as well as sorrows furnace and jade quarry. Pretty sure that they are going to mix up who each server goes against every couple of weeks depending on performance.

Who are you guys accepting into the guild? Is it pretty exclusive or are you going for sheer numbers?

The thing is with GW2 you can be a member of multiple guilds. Guild with your gamer friends, guild up with CP members, guild up with PvP only. The list goes on.

My friends and I decided on Yak's Bend too. I think I'm rolling an Asuran Necro first.

Edit: As for PvE / PvP I'll be doing both depending on what I wanna do when I login.

its not 'exclusive' perse, but there is a type of person they are looking for. That being said, right now recruitment is semi-closed. They are only letting in who they feel are really exceptional fits. We have a 150 cap that we are pretty close too, so random people are being looked at hard. Friends and family invites are getting accepted regularly.

Bought the CE this am and dinked around for few hours during today's stress test.

Couldnt get on the Yaks server, it was full. Hope that doesn't mean I have to do paid realm transfer... I assume not since its just beta.

Definately a change from WoW. Trying to break my WoW habit, hope this will help me avoid the xpac.

You will get to choose a new server when the game launches. In the first few weeks they are going to leave server transferes open until population settles down.

With the newest drivers/engine changes I am not even keeping a steady 60 in heavy traffic areas, (WvW with LOTS of physics and stuff going on) and thats with the newest 6 core oced @ 4.8ghz and a single gtx 670 oced.

At that resolution you better be at the very least dual graphics or more :P

After playing a bit yesterday. Once the game goes live for prepurchasers, does that mean we also get a headstart on server choiceor all the people in beta retain those spots? Might be my only chance to get into yaks bend.

Yes, headstart gives us the edge in choosing servers, toon names all before those that get the "box" edition on Tues.

Everything done through beta is now wiped and we start afresh early Sat.

Not sure what the problem is then.. my processor and graphics card are twice as good.. are you running ultra high settings w/ supersampling? Im maxed out nearly all the time except in WvW fighting at walls with 100+ people running around and all the physics that go with it. Should still be maxed out in my mind. Maybe its the drivers.

As for head start, be at your computer at 11pm CST friday night if you want to get in and get your name reserved, Headstart was originally slated for 2am CST but they mentioned that they may open it up 3 hours prior at 11pm. gogogogo!

So is yaks bend the consensus?

All i know is that myself and sonofabier will be rolling there (provided he gets accepted into my guild)

Other than that, some of the other major groups on Yaks bend will include the gw2guru guild, and the gamebreaker.tv guild

Again, server transfers will be free at first, so if you cant get on yaks bend, or dont like it, you can move to or from at will in the first few days/weeks of launch.

Whelp, I got accepted. I chatted with some people on the Mumble server, and they seem like a pretty cool gang. Looking forward to launch.

I ran Shift 2 with AA on and everything maxed and was running 33 FPS on a single card that has been mildly overclocked.

I'm jealous. I'm running a dual core athlon 2.8 mhz, nvidia 9600 gt, 150 gig raptor w/ 8g of memory. All displayed on a 19" LCD.

Got a 1000pt influence bonus for the guild, 3000pvp pts, a miniture, and nice trophey apparel item with stats across the board and an instance access to storage.

With all the time I pull in GW1 to complete my Hall of Monuments along with the CE bonus's, I'm gonna be loaded right out of the gate.

I actually have the money sitting in my paypal to order my second gtx 670 for SLI but they are out of stock on newegg.

I did however see on the official arenanet post about graphics cards that ATI cards in general where getting better framerates as compared to the nvidia counterparts of similar 'power' . Im sure it has to do with exactly how the graphics are being handled. Either way im || this close to pulling the trigger on my 2nd 670, or my 120hz monitor. Decisions decisions.

As for headstart. My vacation starts when I leave work tonight, and goes until wed. SO I have all day tommorrow to get ready, sleep, then get up and play all night, and for the next few days. Im gonna stock up on foods and drinks and not come out until the sun burns me like a vampire~

I just got the regular digital download pre-purchase, but it did come with a single item, and everyone recieved any pre-order items during the 1 hour stress test yesterday, as well as the previous 4 hour one on tuesday. They are pretty much ready to rock. RUmor is that yesterdays stress test was very close to the final build since all of the areas where actually open instead of cordoned off.

33 FPS is completely playable. Just not ideal.

Even crap computers can play it with turned down settings. Dont be scared.

Im running a single 22 inch at 1920x1080.

With ultra settings, and supersampling i get 60 (monitor max) everywhere except lions arch, where its about 51-52 and really heavy WvW environments where it drops to the low 40s

This is with; i7 3930k @ 4.8ghz, evga gtx 670ftw, 16gb corsair dominator, force gt SSD

So yea, i have an extremely beastly system, but its still not enough to max the game in all situations even on a single monitor.

Nvidia has promised a 20-70% increase in the next driver, which is supposed to release today or tommorrow, so I feel ok about it.

All that being said during bwe3 I played on a q6600@3.1 and a hd6870 and it was playable on medium high settings.

Yeah... I 'm gonna pull the trigger on that second card. This is money I was not expecting to spend but if this 3 monitor thing is worth doing... it's worth doing right. :D
