Farewell, Shane, we need the cap space.

Nuh-uh. We're cutting Palmer and doing away with the quarterback entirely. We're going to line up three running backs under center and do a hell of a lot of reverses.

Gonna have to, McFadden can't stay healthy.

AussieChiefsFan 03-23-2013 01:12 AM

But seriously, if you guys draft geno I will be a little pissed.

penbrook 03-23-2013 01:13 AM

Lechler signed a 3 year/5.5 mil contract.

We overspent on Colquitt.

Honestly if I were a Chiefs fan i would be more worried about the Raiders drafting a quarterback NEXT year...

Meh, atleast we got our guy back. Besides, Colquitt is 6 years younger.

I am interested to see how switching back to power blocking affects McFadden's production.

Jiu Jitsu Jon 03-23-2013 01:20 AM

Ironically, some people have told me I look like Shane Lechler.

I want to see him and Hillis back together. Maybe even bring in Felix and complete the Arkansas trifecta.

Off topic slightly, I was surprised the Raiders released Taiwan Jones. I thought he would have been a solid 3rd down back.

Additionally, I was pissed as hell that you guys signed Streater and drafted Criner last year.

Did Criner progress at all last year? Show any flashes?

Heyward-Bey is gone, so right now it looks like Moore, then Ford and Hagan, and Criner/Streater nipping at the heels of the starters. Whether anyone else is brought in for receiver remains to be seen at this point.

Heyward-Bey was fast, and that was about it. I saw Palmer hit him in the chest with a ball and he dropped it. I was like WTF? Should Palmer run up to you and hand you the ball?

Hagan got brought back?

Glad that guy is getting a chance. Always thought he performed when given the chance but never displayed enough upside to warrant keeping him over younger/"higher ceiling" players.

I'd really expect Streater/Criner to be pushing for a starting spot if Streater can improve his hands and Criner learns how to run routes (being as basic as I can).

Trim it some more

ChiefsPlanet has some very generous guidelines, 200 pixels tall by 650 pixels wide is more than enough screen real estate for you to express you individuality. That dimension includes your graphics AND any witty text you want to share. If you go over this amount, you may lose your ability to have a signature.

If you're counting on cap savings from your punter, you're in a lot of trouble.

If you can't sign your LT because you overpaid your punter, you're in a lot of trouble.

Not us. It will actually free us up some cap space to sign Albert long term.

cdcox 03-23-2013 12:07 PM

I'm certain that

(Albert's current offer) + (Colquitt's contract) - (Lechler's contract)

would get Albert signed.

He's not the only one being let go. If Lechler had been clutch last year he might have been resigned. But if average or alright is all we're going to get, we can pay other people less for that. That's pretty much the modus operandi for McKenzie this year.

houstonwhodat 03-23-2013 12:58 PM

You're assuming that we don't have enough money to sign Albert. I think that's nowhere close to being true.

Alex Smith 4Ever 03-23-2013 02:47 PM

Andy Lee has been better for the past few years. We should try and trade for Lee if the 49ers draft a young punter
