Look at how lackadaisical the team comes out, how they have lapses of 2-3 minutes of complete brain farts, how many guys are more concerned with jacking up high degree of difficulty shots than running an offense (I don't say the offense, because there isn't any). It's an AAU team with an AAU mentality. None of these guys ever seems the least bit concerned if they lose, provided they get theirs.

If you respect your coach you don't need a fire lit under your ass at the 17:00 mark of every half.

To add on one more thing: The guys last year played hard, but they weren't playing for Haith, they were playing for each other and they were playing against Mike Anderson.

This team lacks that kind of galvanizing force. You don't need it, but if you don't have a coach you respect, it's a wonderful adjunct. Haith commands the respect of a substitute teacher, and his players listen to him like one. That's also why they appear to like him--they don't fear him.

I think MU realized that this ref crew was swallowing the whistles, and decided to respond by driving incessantly. Not much else is working, so why not?
