Are you planning to help storm Area 51?
 

I'll grudgingly link cnn to support journalism even though they fill their page with ads and noise.

The short version is that over 300,000 people have signed up for an event on Facebook to storm Area 51 so they can see what's inside. I suspect that most will be killed, eaten, or cast off into alternate universes, but I'm hoping that a few will make it back out to share their findings.

You all aren't very optimistic for success. I think 300,000 people can overwhelm the defenses as long as the aliens don't get out.

Why not? Seems like a well thought out plan.

I visited Little Bighorn last month and toured the battlefield. They took great pains to avoid overtly saying that the Native Americans had no semblance of military tactics, but it was obvious in the descriptions. Apparently they would just mill around until someone like Crazy Horse exhorted them to charge, and then it was just chaos as they all ran the equivalent of an 11-man blitz.

But it worked. The natives won. The cavalry got overrun by sheer force and fury. And I could see the same thing happening here.

I think that would be a PR disaster.

I dunno, I might have some conflict of interest here that would keep me from participating.

Maybe if we dress up as MP's and wait for the carnage to take place we could walk right in.

I've heard it's like 20 miles to get there from the nearest road. The military is gonna hand out water and send people back.
