My younger sister has cancer
 

I've never asked for anything from anyone on CP in my nearly 10 years here.

Today all I ask is that you say a small prayer and well wishes for my younger sister who had a Melanoma removed from her leg last week with a skin graft and today they found some more evidence in one of her lymph nodes so she heads back in for a CT scan next week. So far it looks like they have it early and I hope that's all.

She is a wonderful human being, unlike myself, a school teacher for over 30 years, loved by everyone who knows her and a real strong person. I'm heartbroken to hear my kid sister has the "c" word and really just shook me up.

Thanks in advance for anyone who offers a simple kind word.

The beautiful and witty Mrs. FAX has gone through lymphoma treatments and come out just fine.

Prayers for your sister, of course. But also know that the treatments today are sophisticated and highly effective. Try not to give power to the problem and think positively, my friend.

My mom had breast cancer when I was 12. It was scary, and shitty, enough as it was without these 2 ****s that lived next door to us mocking her. They made fun of her for being bald, wearing a bandana, and even went as far as taunting my brother and I because she was so sick. They teased us and said she was going to die. That was the one and only time I put my hands on a girl. I ****ed both of them up and afterwards their father marched them over to apologize to me. 22 years later she is alive and well.

I apologize for going so off track with that one but reading this brought back that memory. Prayers and best wishes for your sister and your family.
