Sipping some of the Grand Marnier I received as a birthday gift. I'd say "comfortable" is an appropriate adjective.

NewChief 02-01-2014 11:18 PM

A couple of local brews followed up with some Evan on the rocks.

I would be, but we've got a damned snowstorm here. The wife needs to go up to her store at some point today, and I'm going to have to run her up there in the blizzard. Damn woman's cutting into my Sunday drinking.

When I lived with my buddies we had the best bachelor pad. 32 oz of Miller High Life was 96 cents. We couldn't afford much, but when we came across $5 we all had one. Nothing better than sitting on the porch having a Miller talking about life and what ever came to mind.

Lagunitas IPA and Jai Alai IPA. Checking out beer stores in different parts of the country is one of my favorite aspects of travel these days. Palm Beach has beer I can't get in AR.

Cigar City makes great beer, Jai Alai is very tasty.

Cannibal 03-26-2014 05:45 PM

Just finished my last day at my previous employer. I start a new job this coming Monday (which is actually back at my old job that I left two years ago). I'm getting a 30% increase in annual salary and starting next October I'll begin accruing 4 weeks of paid vacation annually. If the company is doing well in a given year, I can expect large annual bonuses. It's really validating and rewarding to have a company make that big of an effort to let you know how valuable you are. My previous employer went balls out to bring me back and I am pretty excited about it.

Of course, my stress level is probably going to increase at least 30% to go along with my salary increasae, but I hope to learn to deal with it :)

So I have a 4 day weekend and I'm having the following celebratory brew:

THE BENNIE

http://www.gcfb.net/sites/gcfb.net/f...?itok=k--tgCl0

A German style lager, our Bock carries a brownish color, a medium body, and a mouthwatering smoothness from the wonderful malt and sweet caramel flavors.

S T Y L E : German Bock
C O L O R : Deep Garnet
B O D Y : Light to medium
F L A V O R : Malty, nutty, sweetness and subtle hints of chocolate
A L C O H O L : 5.5%

Cannibal 03-26-2014 05:48 PM

The chocolate flavors are very strong, and it's pretty good. But I don't normally associate that with a "bock" type beer.

Drink of choice tonight?

Merlot, I highly recommend Tobin James if you can get your hands on some. Living an hour away from wine country (Paso Robles) is a luxury.

Tom Collins mix and Vodka

NewChief 04-04-2014 10:54 PM

Nothing at all. Chaperoning a group of students throughout the weekend.

suzzer99 04-04-2014 10:59 PM

Stoli Sticki (honey flavored), club soda, lime wedge and a splash of POM. Seriously try it sometime.

Discuss Thrower 04-04-2014 11:01 PM

Beer. And it's ****ing weird because I'm at the same bar and the tender denies the fact she was working last night.

Lagunitas maximus IPA is fantastic. 8.2 percent alcohol, after 4 or 5 you'll be feeling pretty toasty. At least for me. Tonight been drinking Fosters.

Cider and the Ultra is for her. I will drink her Ultra if it sits in there too long. I can't handle more than 3 of the ciders. They give me a headache, the first one always tastes pretty good.

DOC this afternoon/tonight a wee bit? Vodka and tonics with a twist of lemon and, wait for it... STAG beer you lilly livers, that's right, STAG.

A four pack of tall boys for $3.25, oh yeah, the beer your grandpa sucked down at the VFW isn't half bad at all at this price... suck it up and drive on, its STAG BEER tonight, Nancy.

kevonm 05-18-2014 04:50 PM

Excellent haul for me this weekend. Graduated medical school and received a bottle of Midleton Barry Crockett Legacy and Tullamore Dew Phoenix. I am very nervous to open the Middleton. By far the most expensive alcohol I have ever owned.

I ****ing love the Mexicans. They redid our floors when we moved in and they worked all day without taking a lunch to get it done. Whistling tunes as they did. They work way harder than any white person for the same job. And before anyone asks, they were licensed. I'll be finding more awesome Mexicans to redo my backyard.

Tell your wife I love her.
