I think I'm going to play a drinking game to Midnight Run.
Tentative rules: Sip a beer every time someone says ****. Sip a beer for each gunshot; waterfall for duration of any machine gun fire. Sip a beer everytime Jack checks for his watch ticking. Finish your beer when Sidney gets threatened by Jimmy Two drinks every time the Duke is handcuffed. Optional: Smoke a cigarette everytime Agent Moseley lights up. |

It tastes like bad cheap shine that's had the fat lady at sonic shoot some cherry flavored squirts in it. On top of this it's got what appears to be pickled eyeballs removed from exhumed civil war corpses floating around in it. It might make decent cough syrup. |

Working on a Sapphire martini. I've never really liked Vodka martinis. Stirred, not shaken.
|
Also finished off a bit of Laphroaig 10 year, because I can't afford much fancier than 10 year, and I'm tired of Macallan

Samuel Smiith's Organic Ale

a double Kamora - a 'house brand' coffee liqueur from Mexico. 40 proof - not half bad. Nothing to write home about, needs some half and half and coffee to go with.

I am house-sitting for my parents while they are out of town. I drank all of their wine. I think they are going to be pissed.

Last night I tried Tito's Homemade Vodka chilled straight up and it was INCREDIBLE! No burn aftertaste and smooth as silk. The best vodka I've ever tasted! Usually drink Ketel One or flavored Stolis.

2 ounces Rye whiskey Three dashes Peychaud's Bitters One sugar cube or 1 tsp simple syrup Splash of absinthe or Herbsaint Preparation One old fashioned or rocks glass is packed with ice and water to chill the glass. In a second old fashioned glass, muddle the sugar cube or simple syrup with the bitters. Add the rye to this mixture. Stir to combine. Empty the ice from the first glass. Pour the absinthe or Herbsaint into the glass and swirl to coat the sides of the glass. Any excess absinthe or Herbsaint is discarded. Pour the rye/sugar/bitters mixture into the coated glass. Twist a lemon peel over the glass and rub the rim of the glass with the peel. The peel can be discarded or placed into the cocktail.[1] And TEDx(city) are basically local TED talks that are endorsed by TED and have the potential of getting picked up and publicized by the big TED organization. One of ours from last year did: <iframe src="http://tedxtalks.ted.com/video/Defense-of-Small-Talk-Kyle-Kell/player?layout=&read_more=1" width="420" height="331" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe> |

Cruzan is tasty rum, their flavored stuff is far to weak to drink though. We just got my buddy a bottle of The Balvenie 21 year for his bachelor party. Cannot wait to try this, I know it's going to taste so much better than JW Blue.

Why pay $6 for a six? Because it just isn't as cool as paying $10 and saying you knew about the band back when. |

People prefer macro brews because your average consumer wants a cheap option that does the job. Same reason box wine and black velvet sell. Just give me something that does the job for the least amount of money. I do this at times as well. I'm not going to crush 12 pale ales on a Saturday night because they're a bit heavier and my stomach would be fairly full. I'll just drink bud light if I'm doing that. If I want a couple or three beers I'm most certainly going to drink something that actually has a good flavor to me. Not the bud light. Although it most certainly has it's place and usefulness for me. Some people have drank the shit their whole life, so of course they prefer it and think micro brews are a waste of money. Their loss. |

A Coors Banquet style will not only "get ya lit" but its also smooth, made from beautiful water and has a good, strong hops flavor to it... don't even get me started on Black Velvet though, LMAO sooo funny you would mention that particular brand, Pops called it "loudmouth". |

I've made the mistake of offering my dad and FIL Blvd. products before. After 30 years of drinking one brand of beer, you can imagine how well that went over. I usually keep an Anhueser product in the fridge in case they stop by. And I don't bother mixing my FIL a whiskey and coke with my Bulleit or Bourbon Trace, so I keep Jim Beam on hand. It's cheap and I like it as well. There's a fair amount of beer snobbery on this board. And whiskey snobbery. And wine snobbery. And food snobbery. And the list goes on. That's just CP. We like to argue about why our opinion on 'x' is more valid and enlightened than the next guy. |
Drinking diet coke. Been taking an alcohol break for about 2 weeks. Drank a .750 of Rye on Rye when it first dropped mid-January then drank everything in my fridge and most of it was 10+ ABV. I got hammert on beer. So I took a break. Probably have a sixer Sunday night then break again for most of February.

When scott free joked[ish] that I saw snobbery in myself, well, he's wrong. He doesn't see me with people at their homes, or at my home, or at local bars. He doesn't know that a lot of my best friends don't drink craft beer, or will start with craft beer and transition into Budweisers to finish off the night, and that it meets with zero opposition from me. He doesn't know that I don't try and push craft beer onto people (but will gladly talk about it when asked or prompted). He probably isn't even recognizing that I'm not using phrases like "better beer" or "more flavorful beer" or etc. If you enjoy what you drink, I'm happy for you. Now, I'm probably a music snob. I actually do look down at people for some music preferences. But I really try not to be a beer snob. Quote:
