In gearing up for the Bataan death march-style endurance test that is a day spent with my entire dysfunctional family on my worst day of the year tomorrow (long story), I stopped by the local liquor store on my way home. I picked up a bottle of vodka (I was out) and a bottle of Fireball cinnamon whiskey, which I love but haven't had in a while. My cabinet now is fully stocked, although I'm low on rum and tequila, so they will be my next stop.

Unfortunately, I'm traveling. It was Oak Aged Brett the Hitman Tart at Front Street Brewery in Wilmington, NC.

Quote:

Brett is a barrel-aged imperial strength porter with a delicious double whammy of tartness; tart, dried cherries and sour, wild yeast (Brettanomyces). Tangy cherry leads the charge, with roasted notes following, and a complex funky finish. 9.5% ABV
My first sour on tap.

I've celebrated a recent string of sales and good money with Makers Mark the last few nights. 3 $30 bottles is a small price to pay for success!

You're overpaying for Makers. It costs me about $17 a bottle.

I was going to say the same thing but figured there might have been a price hike I didn't know about. I bought 3 bottles at Walmart for $20 bucks here the last time I walked down the isle and thought it was normally only $24 there.

It's $20 on bevmo right now.

phisherman 06-18-2013 09:42 PM

A collaboration beer between Boulevard and Sierra Nevada, Terra Incognita. Interesting American wild ale. Very carbonated, not too sour.

Hibiki whiskey.

LOL.... OK!!! I took the pic with a more "cool" phone. That being said, try all you want, the BB is still the best keyboard out there when you need to type right. Other than that, ur right, it blows too. AS DO ALL PHONES!!!

I hope that you haven't combined the soda and Maker's. Otherwise, what's the point? Drink something about $10 cheaper per bottle.

BlackHelicopters 06-21-2013 05:40 PM

I'm sure it's a sin. But, I'm mixing.

My palate isn't that advanced yet to drink much stuff straight.

After a couple of glasses I will try a glass straight.

OnTheWarpath15 06-21-2013 05:55 PM

Ran out of Art of Neurosis, so back to Tank 7.

There is really no point in drinking Makers if you're mixing it, that's truth. I'm drinking Jack and Mexican Coke. It's pretty delicious. I'm not mixing it either. :D

Merlot with dinner, but then it's Kraken on the rocks....

ghak99 06-21-2013 07:36 PM

Having an 80 Acre with some grub to start, but I picked up some Tank 7 earlier and plan to cool down with one of them later.

Dayze 06-21-2013 07:37 PM

I need to switch it up. Do some liquor ("lick 'er? I don't even know her") mix drinks for a while instead of beer.

Thinking vodka tonics or rum and cokes. Hmmm.

Saw the comments about Makers Mark, so I got a bottle to try it. I tried it on the rocks first, and for what it is, it's was pretty OK. Tried it in Diet Coke too. The double went a lot faster, so I went back to on the rocks.

If I'm going to kill my liver, I'm not wanting to add, "and I did it on the cheap" to the list I tell the doctor (unless I have to). But yeah, it's way to pricey. Then again, most alcohol is too pricey!

It's the price we pay for have too many assholes running the goddamn place! ****ers!

Not a lot of places around here have it on tap and the stuff goes skunk in most stores...
