Eh, I saw Joint Security Area. It's not as good. A little too mushy for me.

And I agree that the others don't live up to Old Boy, but there are some scenes that in Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance that still make my stomach turn when I think about them.

JSA is good. Its just not the same type of movie. But, wow. What a closing shot...

Defiance

Not a typical war movie. Left a lot to be desired IMO. The film tried to show the hardship of the Russians and Russian Jews of that time, but it just didn't convey what the film was looking for. If the storyline would have brought to light how brutal the Nazi's were in Russia it would have made it much better in understanding the plight of Russian Jews during 1941. Instead what you get is a campout in the woods and a couple romance stories.

Overall was disapointed. Thought the film going in was going to be great, but ended up being just a good movie to watch.

When I watch a Vamp movie, I expect some origin background. And, those Vamps were pretty much mindless killing machines.

the ending made me want to punch someone in the face. Wa wa I don't want to be a vampire so I'm gonna sit here and die when the sun comes up...boo hoo. fuck THAT! Make me a vampire! I bet it would kick ass

No way. No way in HELL would I want to be one of those wraiths. If I'm not kicking it Rice-style, count me out!

Not that you get any background... It's just the best vampire movie in years.
