What a great feel this song has. Always reminded me of an updated "You Ain't Just Whistlin Dixie" by the Bellamy Brothers.

First verse has to be about my grandma... Second has to be about Mr. Sisk that my dad and uncles farmed for a couple of years.

I don't like country music, but I do like bluegrass and ALT-country bands.
The only country artists I've listened to and still do- are Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson. Kris's song "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is still one of my favorite all-tme songs. |
Taking a different track.....songs that mean a lot to Dad's of girls

Do certain lines in a song ever just hit anyone else right and make them love a song? Even if the line isn't necessarily poignant? Just the way it feels or the images it conjurs up. The opening lines of this song has always done that for me.
A cup of coffee with the first sunlight at a last chance Texaco I'm thumbing through a worn out road map trying to decide which way to go... <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/3U4Jny7FTf8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
