I'm curious. If we didn't take Mahomes in the first, would we have a chance to trade-up for him in the 2nd?

The dude is going to be drafted before we get a chance at him at 27. If we really want him, we have to trade up in the 1st |
All I know is that the QB grades are all over the board. Several teams rumored to be looking at some of these guys that pick in the top 13 could very well be looking at them at the top of round 2/trade up into end of round 1 as well. Basically we have no idea. Scouts all seem to think that most of these guys aren't going top 15.
We'll have to see. If I had to guess a sequence of earliest QB picks, it's Trubisky at 6 to the Jets, Watson at 12 to the Browns, Kizer at 13 to the Cards, Mahomes at 23 to the Giants, and Webb at 25 to the Texans. |
There's no way that many teams are passing on the top end defensive talent to draft these kinds of QBs.
There's a better chance of only 1 or 2 going in the first than 5. |
A contrarian's take on Mahomes and the hype he has been garnering. Don't shoot the messenger:

Mahomes is a black QB so he compares to Geno Smith?
I don't think he compares to Geno at all. His arm strength and ability to throw on the move is much better. He is still very raw, but I could see him being ready in two years. |
