at first my brain was like...alright I guess I can deal with this if romeo, cassel quinn are all gone but the fact is is that no top level coach wants to coach under dictator egoli because he tries to do their job for them. how the hell does clark not see this OR the fact that pioli has drafted 1 impact player in 4 years. houston. why god why

I suspect our definition of "top notch" is different from Pioli's. Considering that he won't pick from outside of the tree, it would have to be someone from the tree that was available.

I'm worried it will be Ferentz with Mangini as DC.

just close this franchise down if thats gonna happen

weneed to up the pressure on pioli so clark has absolutely no choice but to fire him because of fan resentment. we need to go for the jugular

KurtCobain 11-28-2012 12:32 PM

Is there any chance that if Pioli stays even with a 1-15 record that crennel stays? If that's the case shoot me now.

I do not trust Pioli hiring a HC, that's the number one reason I want him gone.

Save our chiefs!

bevischief 11-28-2012 12:34 PM

I don't trust Pioli to watch my TV with me in the room at this point let alone a new HC and the first round pick of the draft.

First pick of the draft should always be a QB if you don't have one. Pioli shouldnt even be able to **** that up.

Are you implying he would take Jones 1 overall, or that he would take a Tyson Jackson type at #1 and get Jones later? I figure him trading for Alex Smith or Flynn is a likely scenario if he doesn't get a QB at #1.

He took Jackson #3 overall. He could definitely take Jones #1 overall.

TBH, though, I suspect he trades down, takes a corner or LT and takes a 3rd tier QB in the 3rd or 4th round.

The Franchise 11-28-2012 01:09 PM

I could honestly see Pioli doing this:

1st - Trade down 4 to 5 spots and take Manti Te'o*
2nd - Landry Jones
3rd - Trade for Alex Smith

*I would JIMP for 2 seconds and then shoot myself in the head.

Is anyone going to trade up this year? I could see him taking Te'o #1 overall. Sucks we get high picks in crappy draft years.

Jacksonville, Arizona, Dallas, Cleveland, NY Jets

soopamanluva 11-28-2012 01:16 PM

Also said they've been gauging interest in a trade but no one is showing interest in the #1 pick, but that could change after the combine, pro days etc..

I can kinda, sorta, maybe see how Clark might have extended Pioli after last year (a div championship in '10 and a missed kick away in '11 despite all of the injuries) if he were convinced that the problems were all on Haley.

This year, tho, should have erased all doubts that Pioli is the root cause and '10 and '11 were in spite of him and not because of him. Despite the extension (if it happened), I don't see how Clark can go forward with Pioli another year and not completely lose the fanbase.

Big Chief Homer 11-28-2012 04:15 PM

how do you guage interest in a trade for a pick you dont even have yet?

And Im sorry but no one inside arrowhead knows whats going on with Pioli except the Hunts and they may not even know yet. If he got the extension and they were 100% sure they were going to honor it, they would not have squashed the rumor when it started.

They would have validated it to shut us up.

It would make zero sense from a business perspective.

Why sign a guy to a 5-year deal if you're going to extend him before year four with no proof he's getting the job done?

You'd have to be dumb as **** to give Pioli an extension when he's strokin' off Matty Cassel constantly.

And in the fourth year of your tenure, you go 1-15 and are allowed to keep the job, said team doesn't deserve fans so I don't really feel bad about it

Not really sure how they could be looking into this already. That being said, even just reading these words, true or not, is sickening.

For argument sake, this scenario is an absolute joke. To be failing so much and being ready to trade out and avoid a QB in November would be one of the stupidest moves in sports history. I am not sure that is really being dramatic at all.

I just don't see how this could be true. As bad as Pioli is, to be ready to trade your #1 pick 2 months before you are even officially that #1 pick is crazy.

The good thing here is that the NFL would not allow that to happen before the season ends. The fact that it is even getting mentioned should be a gigantic red flag that Pioli is sticking around though.
