Kirk Cousins is now a Falcon.

You like that? Cousins and the Falcons agreed to a four-year deal, according to reports, though the contract can't officially be signed until Wednesday. It's a massive deal for a quarterback who has done well to max out his earnings. The deal will be for $180 million, includes a $50 million signing bonus and includes a total of $100 million guaranteed, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero. |
Minnesota does not have a QB.

I just can't believe that anyone would give Kirk Cousins $45 million/yr after tearing his ACL at age 36.
|
He probably makes Atlanta the favorite in the worst division in football.
But Cousins isn't suddenly going to become a clutch playoff performer when he gets them to the playoffs. |
After seeing the QB documentary and observing his wife (who is from Georgia) when I heard Atlanta was interested I had a feeling the Vikings would be without him soon.

Mid QB's getting some nice contracts this offseason
|
Wow, he and Matt Cassel should be toasting to fleecing the NFL for every penny.
How do you not go with a rookie? |

At least a rookie would inject some hope and anticipation. But I've seen this movie already so I guess it's unfair for me to spoil the ending. Go Steve Bono Elvis Grbac Matt Cassell I mean Tyler Palko  |
I love how stupid the rest of the league is

Ack, good catch. Welp, at least both started with the letters 'AC,' lol. |
It’s moments like this I thank the lord I am a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, who are the reigning back to back world champions of the professional sport we are currently discussing.

No one has played the FA like Kirk.

Cousins in the south, have a lot of uses

Eh, at least with Cousins you know exactly what you're getting. He's better than JAG. A legit top-12 NFL QB. With a rook, you have no idea how that'll pan out. ATL has been rolling 7-10 three seasons in a row now with below-average QB play. Kirk should be efficient enough to get them another 2 or 3 Ws, which should get them into the playoffs. Something they haven't been able to do for, what is it, 5-6 seasons now? And they have a nice pile of good young talent at WR and RB, along with a decent defense. They need to become a playoff team again asap, before they waste all those cheap contracts. Cousins is good enough to get them there, if he's 100% recovered from his Achilles injury. Though $45 million/yr AAV just seems nuts to me. Basically, they're saying that he's better than Stafford. |

This is what a desperate franchise does
|
I am sure this will lead to the ring.

He's made enough money now if he wanted a ring he should have signed with us as a backup for $1.
|
That's crazy money.
He has made more in his career than probably the first 100 Hall of Fame QBs COMBINED. |
Now here’s a guy who can afford $100 lunches
|
I heard a talking head on ESPN actually say he believes the Falcons could get to the SB with Cousins. How sweet would that be for us.
|
It’s a match made in Heaven. The franchise most famous for shitting themselves in huge games, bring in the QB who can’t ever win big games. What could possibly go wrong?
|
more like a peanut butter falcon.

Dude has put on a master class of betting on yourself and managing co tract negotiations. Washington Franchised him when there probably wasn’t a ton of interest in him. Played well. Bet on himself that stuff. Then Washington did it again played well got some interest. Washington knew they were ****ed, cousins told them to lick his ass. Took less overall money for fully guaranteed money when the Vikes weren’t very good and could easily put the blame on him and shitcan him. Now he’s built up enough of a reputation to get a big contract. Masterclass. |
and the Vikes have signed Sam Darnold.
Time to pick up JJ. |

For perspective.......
Joe Namath became the highest-paid player in the history of the NFL with the 1975 contract he signed with the New York Jets. Under this contract, he would get paid $900,000 over two years, with a salary amount of $425,000 per year, according to The New York Times. |

Um, not to burst your bubble, because you're on a roll, kind of like when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, but you should google Cousins' playoff record. |
