Shawne Merriman: KC "wasn't good enough" to be in Super Bowl

Today's trash talk to file away for next year.

Does that make any sense?

Mr Merriman what you've just said is one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard. At no point in your incoherent rambling were you close to a rational thought. May God have no mercy on your soul

Red Dawg 03-01-2024 12:57 PM

Jim H. is the most overrated coach ever. His claim to fame is not offense. His offense is run run run and run some more. Big whoop. He finally after 9 years sniffed and won one title in college but Ohio State push in his shit 7 times out of 9. Herbert needs and OC HC and still doesn't have one. Roster is getting old on offense but everyone thinks Jim is some all time super coach. He's like Bill Cowher and Marty. His run and punt shit is outdated.

Red Dawg 03-01-2024 12:59 PM

Meat head took to many roids. We took out both 1 seed's and a 2 seed on the road. Anyone else ever do that?

DaFace 03-01-2024 01:00 PM

Yes, Shawne Merriman knows what it takes to win NFL championships...based on his 7-year NFL career in which he was injured for half of them...with (checks notes) the Chargers and Bills. ROFL

InChiefsHeaven 03-01-2024 01:28 PM

I mean, it's a stupid comment, but I'd bet the sound bite doesn't really flesh out what he was possibly trying to get at. In other words, during the season, the Chiefs were not good enough to be in the Super Bowl. I'd say he had an argument based on some of the insane crap we saw out of this team regarding penalties and drops. That team did not look like a SuperBowl team, at least on offense.

But obviously they were more than good enough. I'd have to see the whole exchange.

Oh, and **** Shawn Merriman.

Merriman's critics and detractors will simply point to his steroid use and move on. Merriman's success was a result of his juicing, they will say. Once he got caught and stopped using his body broke down and his true talents as a player were revealed.

In fact, as recently as 2011 there was a report that Merriman was detained at the Canadian border for possession of a controlled substance.

Yeah, seems like it was conveniently cut off at a point where he may have explained himself better... I feel like what people really mean is they weren't sexy enough this season, which is strange coming from a defensive player who should be able to identify elite defense.

Their one big weakness from the regular season went away because guys were predictably benched and Rice added a 2nd major threat in the passing game... besides a true/reliable deep threat (more sexyness), not sure what else you'd demand of a SB caliber team.

I believe what that moron was trying to say is that KC wasn't the most talented team in the AFC and based on talent they should not have made it to the Super Bowl, but KC has just learned how to win games and Patrick Mahomes/Andy Reid both cover a lot of warts in the playoffs.

"They weren't good enough, but they know how to win"

I'd say that's how most of us felt going into the playoffs. Our receivers sucked, we kept making bad mistakes, both mentally and physically, and at times we looked horrible. Yet, we found a way to win. That's what great teams do. Especially those with Mahomes as their QB.

Holy shit the bitching and whining by other teams is off the ****ing charts this year.
I dont remember it every being that bad ever.

So the Chiefs won the SB by having the worst offense the Chiefs have had in 7 years.
How ****ing bad did your team have to be to lose, not make the playoffs or even have a chance to win the SB.

Time to shut up and focus on next year. If you keep focusing on last year, you have already lost.

I forget what year we're on for ppl picking the chargers ti win the division. Year 3 or 4? 5 maybe? They having an aging receiver core, a bad defense that got blown out by the raiders, and a qb that can't stay healthy. But "trust me bro, this year is different".
